Dropped not good enough. We should put a line through him. We will go backwards with him in the side.

You've put a line through half our team, are we playing 11 a side A league next year?

Good job dropping T. Mac. Bayley Fritsch needs dropping as well. If this Melbourne side turns up playing like they have for the last couple of years, the Suns will kick their butts.

Nah it's only T.Mac. I don't have a lot of faith in a few players but if their form is good enough I'm willing to give them another chance.

Third highest rated player on the ground against GWS who was super solid with clean disposal.

Fair enough with May, Lever, Petty in that he won't get a game. But to say we should put a line through him is just silly. We will call on him again this season as undoubtedly one of those 3 tall backs will miss at least a few more games as they always do. He's a solid experienced backup key back.

Their buts?

Interesting.

He was good against GWS but I think we can do better I'd be getting games into Adams before I'd play T.Mac

Only if Adams actually plays some consistent VFL footy. I thought Adams was very average for Casey last year, he looked a fair way off. Had an OK patch in the middle of season but a really poor end to the year.

I think there's a lot of room to grow as he's only 20/21 and had injury interruptions but if you think he's getting picked ahead of Tmac to replace May then you're dreaming. Kids got a long way to go.

If it all falls apart then sure blood him and get some AFL matches into him.

I thought he looked alright on the weekend made 1 mistake dropping the mark and then getting a high free kick not as bad as McDonald's howler. I think if Petty, Lever or May go down I would be playing Adams. T.Mac has been a great player premiership player but I think his time is up time to blood the youngsters.

I agree about Adams.I watch Casey hoping to see Adams and/or Jefferson play an influential part in a game. So far I’ve seen nothing. They seem to be taking too long to develop.
Geez I hope I’m wrong.

All things being equal they should smash us but it's not equal, we've just been embarrassed by Norf we should be breathing fire against them this is our grand final. Lose this and it's season over. I expect us to win. That doesn't change my opinion on Chaplin and Goodwin because I still don't think we will make finals we will have to get on a roll for me to think we will make finals. I think a young side like Gold Coast are usually flakey when it comes to such pressure.

You do know we’re only at round three, right?

I’m sure this is what Lions fans were saying last season, well, the throw the towel in too early fans, anyways.

We are not the lions.

I know a couple of players were ill leading up to the game. I’m wondering if something went through the club? Just a thought. Or, we’re just a rabble once again 🤷‍♂️

In: May, Windsor, AJ, Langford.

Out: Howes, Woewodin, Fritz, Jefferson (inj.).

Please play Langdon and Sharp as pure wingmen.

Is that legit? There hasnt been a whisper of this at all.

I never said we were.

More to the point: you think our season is over if we lose this Saturday? You seriously think we’re done… for the entire season… and it’s still the month of March? Just to remind you of what you said four hours ago: “Lose this and it’s season over.” Your words. Do you stand by this?

It depends on how we lose if we put up a fight. Then maybe the season isn't over but if we put in another performance like we did against North then it is season over.

Thought preseason we would loose to North and the Suns. Quick young sides. It is always harder tackling these types early in the season. Not helped by the speed and class we are missing. Will be horrible but we will be back.

Stats will tell you top 4 is near impossible when 0-3. And finals is 50/50.

So maybe not this weekend but it’ll make the prospect of finals incredibly more difficult.

TBH finals isn’t even a thought atm, I just want the team to win a game playing good footy.

Ah but you didn’t say that.

Once again, you said, “Lose this and it’s season over.”

Not disputing any of that.

I was simply asking Werridee if he was serious when he said, “Lose this and it’s season over.”

OK you got me. I didn't literally mean season over. Although it will feel like season over if we lose 0-3 will more likely be 0-4 we are terrible at Kardina Park.

Bloody hell, one really bad quarter out of 8 and it’s off with their heads. Yes, be disappointed, but the beauty of sport is we get another crack this week.
Let’s get behind them!

FFS, do we need to be? While it would be great to emulate the Lions this year it has never been the pass mark .

In all honesty no team should be thinking finals yet. It's a good way of letting complacency seep in. As hypercliched as it is 'one game at a time' should be the credo for every team. Do that and a team probably achieves as much as it can, including Melbourne, however slowly we chalk up win number one.

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
