It's not often that the PSD cards fall perfectly, we should be leveraging the threat all the way to pulling the trigger.

Yeah but Jordan Clark was always luming as a great player before he had a falling out with Matty Scarlett at the cats and would struggle to get a game. Judd will simply take Warner's role, which is a lockdown small defender. He was never a running half back. In fact Juddy isnt one either..too slow.

Clark got turned into an AA by the dockers. They’ve sold that same vision to Judd. And they have Bailey Banfield playing off half back so they sure have room for him to slot in. Actually off the top of my head I can’t think of any other running half backs they have aside from Clark.

It does bother me a little that Freo turned Jackson's head this way as well. I recall it was something like 'you can be more than just a ruckman or a forward, you can be the next running Adam Goodes unicorn machine'.

On the flip side maybe they are selling individual promises too much and not enough team success vision?

Either way Freo are snivelling little conniving dogs not to be trusted around anyone half decent we draft from WA. We really should start targeting their Victorian talent.

This is a good point. On paper, they have an amazing list but they either have too many individuals happy to take top dollar but not commit to team footy OR they have a coaching department that cannot get the best out of the team. No matter how they sell it, Juddy should be aware that they have not been able to get things done when it matters.

Every team does it, we are not helping ourselves by continuing to go after WA talent.

Pick 11 for McVee is completely unrealistic. He's out of contract so we have little bargaining power.

Once again, Bailey Smith was traded for just pick 17 (and a swap of later picks)- a player that won the coaches votes this year and won his side a final in 2021. How can McVee be anywhere near that market value?

Caleb Daniel was under contract, so North had to pay above market value. McVee is uncontracted.

If you believe McVee is going to be the premier small defender of the comp with an All Australian blazer in 2026, then sure, pick 11 is commensurate.

Pick 11 will blow out to pick 16/17 in a weak compromised draft, It will probably net Greeves/Philipou/ Dovaston etc., whilst rated reasonably highly, there is no guarantee that any play more than 50 games over their careers, hopefully JT can work his magic. Pick 29 from Freo will probably blow out to pick 36 which would be a speculative pick only in this weak draft, and way unders for a best 22 player. Maybe Judd plus pick gained for Spargo (end of round 2/ start round 3 hopefully) for 11 (16/17) + pick 47 might be fair. Just my opinion!.

How is the young brigade blending together?

Our next superstars in Windsor, Langford and XL?

All very different boys but they get along really well. X is rather quiet and reserved, similar to Judd, and seems more mature than the others but gets on with everyone nonetheless. The Bison is also pretty mellow and extremely humble. It’s endearing how modest he is. The No DHs rule is still in force.

The parents of the young ‘uns love that their boys are with the MFC and that’d be because their boys are happy here.

pick 11 in a weak draft and will be pushed back a number of picks as we know. hes absolutely worth pick 11. cough up or weagles take him in the preseason draft.

he is worth around 24, 11 doesn't move back that far. Walking him to the pre season doesn't happen. This is why we aren't list managers!

I really still think he’s going to be a terrific lockdown small defender for Flagmantle for the next decade

Such a shame

Judd will be disappointed if hes played a lockdown defender, thats not what hes been sold and wants

Jordan Clark. Went from not being able to get a game to an AA player. Which ironically is probably the exact example that convinced Judd to go over.

Clarke also went from a 20yo to a 25yo and that has nothing to do with Freo. Its multiple preseason, its maturing as a player, its experience. freo didn't magically give him talent.

They gave him Opportunity and space to develop in the position he wanted to play which Geelong refused to do. He had 3 seasons, Judd had 4. You can argue all you want but no doubt Judd sees similarities between that situation and his.

yes and Geelong have such a terrible development history of playing guys in the VFL. The only similarities i see are players who have inflated opinions of themselves being selfish and taking there bat and going home when they dont get played in the position they want. No just happy to play my role within the team here.

Totally. They’re very good mates. I think it’s because Luker is so easygoing which one would need to be in order to hang out with Kolt who’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so to speak. Kolt has a BIG personality and Luker is super chill which makes it work perfectly. They’re both great lads 🥰

They’re both Subiaco boys, Kolt from their regional zone and Luka from their metro zone. Both part of their 2005 crop so with development, Futures and Colts added to WA squads they have a fair history together

I don't wanna have a crack at McVee but i am just not sure he's going to be an effective attacking half back... he's a gun lock down small defender, someone who could be all australian in that role, but while he's quick, he's not an amazing kick, just solid, i don't think he has the natural game sense others do and just seems to have better defensive than offensive instincts.

hats off to freo if they can make it work but my vibe is that Judd got pigeon holed into a role because he was great at it and it was getting the absolute max out of him as a footballer

that's my vibe too

perfect player for the lockdown rule but he wants to play a rebound one

I changed my mind on Judd's worth.

Top 10 B&F finish 2034 and 2024(7th). He is only 22. Plenty of growth.

I think its pick 11 ( with FA compo for WCE and academy equals around pick 15) and maybe our 2nd rounder back or a future.

At 11 which will be around 15 Freo get a sure thing even if he does not improve from his top 10 finishes. If he gets better then they nailed an absolute bargain.

At 15 no sure thing about getting a player that can get anywhere near top 10 B & F finish.

Wonder whether we will ask for one of their 3 tall forwards as part of a deal.
