I hope they put him in the guts for the whole game today to see if he has what it takes. I think he is the most overrated underrated player if that makes sense.

i hope he goes straight to rhylee west and puts a massive clamp on him for a full four quarters, showing why a small defender is worth much more than a third rotation inside mid

Playing on Scott West today may be tricky 😉

Damn son, definitely playing like an individual ‘invested’ in the club.

My inkling is that McVee's contract negotiations are going to force the hand of the club with regards to some more tenured favourites. Judd and others are very keen for more on-the-ball time, they're being kept at arm's length by an older brigade.

Otherwise I think Judd won't have an issue walking. We are crazy if we leave this kid to rot in the backline given his footy IQ and skillset.

I love Judd but he doesn't have the skill set for midfield IMV.

How about they play him how Salem plays,Judds a 2021 version of Salem

Been poor all year, and who can forget that slip that cost us that final in 23, plays like he is gone elsewhere IMV

All players wanting to be in the midfield that aren't currently in there, use the pre-season to work on your deficiencies, and strengthen up on your weaknesses. Judd looks to have a lot of talent, but as a midfielder, he would be too easily pushed off the ball. if he wants to be a midfielder, stop whinging about it, and hit the gym, smash the sprints, work on your core, get your body right, and demand the position in a way Ed Richards has for the Bulldogs. Same goes for any of our younger brigade, there is room to push out the star (so-called) midfield players, but actions speak louder than words.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
