McVee is out of contract end of 2025.

Without being shot down, I have it on pretty good authority that he will be asking to return home/play for West Coast after this contract expires.

I would imagine the club will be trying everything they can to retain Judd - given how good he has been in his first two years in the AFL side. FWIW, Woewodin also put feelers out to WA clubs given limited opportunity/setting record for most games as starting sub last year.

I hope that both of these don't eventuate and would like to think the large contingent of young WA talent will stick together.

Don’t but that at all.. all players field talks form clubs in home state — but Judd is extremely indebted & committed to the club, has a massive role to play & I think it’s more be one to worry about down the line. It’d always a possibility but I think he will be resigned for at least 2 more early in season without any direct info, just what I sense happening.

The poster knows these players and they know her. They’re young and enjoying life. There’s absolutely no reason why they wouldn’t tell her what’s going on. You know she’s struggled with the overt criticism so just let it go. It’s not a sheltered workplace but you’ve got to understand you’re making it unpleasant for her. Maybe ask yourself what you’re getting out of trying to put her down? It just makes you a bully and a total tool.

I'm sorry but this is extreme and the language used here and on other posts is just over the top.

Does freedom of speech exist anymore without a forum pile on every time?

As if he would say that?? It seems unusual to say the least.

It's definitely sharing but no real biggie?

If he said too much about Judd's contract negotiations then I'd be worried!

This is the problem, people can attack other posters anonymously and then claim that freedom of speech doesn't exist.

People are absolutely free to have their opinions, but there is a difference between having different opinions and overtly attacking certain people regularly.

I think the vast majority of posters are a bit fed up with it tbh. We come on here to chat with other fans, get inside information (whether true or not) and be part of the Dees community, well I do anyway.

I come to this thread to read about my favourite player only to find half of it is bickering.

Folks, please take the bickering somewhere else.

Don’t give me the freedom of speech argument. If being an ahole on a forum isn’t tolerated what do you actually see as the issue? The poster hasn’t been banned so there is no freedom of speech argument to be had.

Hey Layz 👋

I’ve only been here for 2 seconds so bear with me. 😂

I don’t talk to the boys about things like contract details but we definitely talk about girlfriends just as I talk to my own sons and their mates about their girlfriends. I don’t expect everyone to understand, It’s a mum thing. Kolt calls me his VIC Mum. No one involved in any of these convos thinks it’s strange and that’s what counts.

If you see someone being a [censored] and you call them a [censored], aren't you exercising your freedom of speech?

Being told to "pull you head in, [censored]" is hardly being sent to the gulag.

I don't get the correllation BP and I am certainly not going to engage except to say that I am pretty sure I stood next to GW at training on Monday and as a supporter, she is extremely well engaged with the club and playing group. They warmly welcomed her and I would imagine any info that she shares is more reliable than yours or mine.  As I have mentioned before I have never met her so have no agenda except to maybe make this place even more harmonious than it already is.  After all, we all love the red and blue right?

By the way, the old "write the post or email or whatever message service is your preference, read it to yourself and then delete it" is a good rule to live by.  I do it on this forum all the time.

Mate, just think about it. Why on earth would Kolt say that to a supporter about another player, in the same week his contract is spoken about on the forum. And if Kolt, as a 1st 12 mth player, is actually saying that about other players and their relationships to supporters at a training da  he needs to pull his head in. Play it through in your head.

Seems like a fanciful fairytale to me. I might well be wrong but I bet even you doubt I am.

Why would it be fanciful?  Judd and Lily said the same thing to me on Saturday night at the B&F.

Freedom of speech does not come without freedom of consequence.  When "freedom of speech" extends to being nasty to someone, expect backlash.  And by the way, that's their freedom of speech to call out that nasty behaviour.

Point of order,

We don't have freedom of speech as a right. Certainly not on a privately owned forum.

Example:- [censored] [censored] [censored]

There are many things we cannot say in our society without repercussions.

Example:- There is a bomb in the toilet.

We need to show respect, accept our differences and cut each other some slack. We share love of our club and each of us does it differently.

I was given advice to write letters to my enemies and then burn them.

Wasn't sure what to do with the letters after that though.

Bit harsh burning your enemies. Note to self, be nice to Nascent.

Abe Lincoln's favourite!

It's a wise method and very useful. I think most folk these days are too impatient or too addicted to the dopamine hit that comes from pushing a 'post' button.

I wish I was joking but I fully believe that. Things are often shoot first, ask questions later.

Sure, but why shout down someone because their opinion is unpopular?

Rather a hypocritical take given the context of the discussion, ie, that opinion you claim is unpopular was of a poster that.....didn't agree with another poster.

Who is being an ahole? I personally don't see an issue but why can't someone say that they find something hard to believe and why on earth would they be banned for it?

Exactly. However popularity should be taken out of it.

I wouldn't say that the poster didn't agree either, they said they found it hard to believe and were happy to be proven wrong. Was it really that bad?

Felt like we got a solid couple of weeks without threads like this turning to watered down crud.

C'est la vie.

I think you're making a completely different interpretation of what's happening here.  You claim he was "happy to be proven wrong", no such occurance is evident.  What is evident, though, is not only him doubling down, but then chucking a pity party for himself.

this is weird. What have I missed? Was there an intervention or group therapy session. Once again I doubt kolt said that to a supporter. Why am i made to feel as though I have insulted the disabled? i did nothing to warrant the cultish feedback.

Because your comment about 'Sheltered workshop' is offensive. I have a daughter with disabilities (and they are now called 'People with Disabilities' out of respect for them.

If you seriously can’t work it out then I’m not going to waste my time explaining it. Ask your parents?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
