Fair enough.

We all get emotional as we all love the Melbourne Football Club.

I just would be quite devastated if we lost Clayton Oliver, especially if it was for a mere pittance to Geelong.

Clubs like Geelong think if you want something you trade for it simple to get the deal done it's all about the long game.

Pert sounds like the kind of power hungry politicking guy that uses a home base development project to service his own personal needs and wedge himself into an either/or sack me and it collapses ultimatum.

That really sounds like the kind of fake two-faced person that develops shallow interpersonal relationships that slowly crumble as more and more people cotton on to the grift over time. And we're  where we are now.

That can't be good for "culture"

So I take it you have had personal dealings then?

The project falls over if he loses his position at the MFC, is enough of a red flag to me.

And how does it fall over then? So if Pert got hit by a truck tomorrow the caulfield project gets called off is that what you are saying?

Anyway, I guess we shall wait and see what happens at the Melbourne Demons Best & Fairest tomorrow evening and throughout the rest of the trade period.

You're allow to have an opinion and you're allow to express it - don't let anyone tell you that you can't.

We're not saluting red flags.... (yet!) 😉

How can I know? Rumours that the project would fall over if Pert was sacked, were reported last month. Just like 'rumours' of Clayton Oliver wanting to play for Geelong, are being reported now.

So no facts to back that up and where was it reported about the caulfield project.

What rubbish show me where players don't want to come.

Houston did want to come to Melbourne but changed his mind when realised we’re a rabble, sick of this club, just sick of it!

So Houston said that did he, or are you mind reading.

Pretty sure Sam Edmund was reporting it when discussing the review about to take place. Of course we do not have any facts. It's not going to be a contract written on a piece of paper.

The issue is clear communication to members. I guess those at the BNF will get some of that, maybe?  But that's got to be balanced with the internal processes of the club.  Yes we want to now, but at the same time the clubs doesn't want to share everything they are trying to do with the public (leaks aside) .

So have click bait muppets that will get a grain of a rumour and publish about it to fill the media cycle.  And then it gets out of control.

So in reality what do we want from the club in its communication to sort this out.

Oh so nothing by the club, so do we only accept facts from journalists now who everyday tell people who's leaving their club's every day just like Sparrow was going then signed and the list goes on.

Yeah nothing to see hear, club is run like a well oiled engine, meanies in the media making rumours up from thin air just because they hate us 🙄

What sort of nuffie actually believes this garbage? The club needs a cleanout top down, Goodwin is the only one I'm 50/50 on but the board, Pres, CEO, Richo all need to go.

Are you in at the Club every day....because if not, like all of us you have NFI

I'd like to reply using the impeccable song lyrics from Billy Joel - feel free to hum along if you know the tune....

"Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you..." (MFC)

From my current experience working at a large corporate, one message the executives all say is “align, align, align”. Always make sure everyone is on the same page. This is the most basic thing an organisation can do.

The fact that there is clear misalignment between the footy department and the CEO which has now played out publicly is quite simply a disgrace. You can defend Pert all you want, but this club is run by amateurs at an executive level.

Peter Jackson must be laughing at the farce. Having turned the MFC from a basket case to on the right path to its first grand final win in 57 years, he reportedly warned the club about Gary Pert (Josh Mahoney being his well documented choice to be his successor) and was ignored. Now the club has turned full circle back to basket case, with Gary Pert reported to be shopping around one of the greatest footballers to ever pull on the MFC jumper in Clayton Oliver. Totally bizarre.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
