Retooled backline doing an excellent job.

Beasley a very good find. Clearly missing Purcell but they’re having a good go without her. Just a shame she isn’t there because that would free up a mid to go forward or back.

Wotherspoon has something. She’ll be a player

I just wish the game plan going forward was just a little slower and safer even if that takes away the most electric plays. It’s ok to get some numbers forward and pressure on.

It's the half back to centre kick that we're missing I think. We need one short and safe to gain 25 metres, before the long kick. That means if it turns over it rebounds from half back not from the centre.

Inexperienced midfield combo and half forwards will do that.

In an ideal world Hore would just play connector forward but we need her on ball and deep

Be good if bannan could do something

She’s a complete zero competitively. Anything that requires body on the line or head over the ball - forget about it

where would we be without Kate Hore. Heads and shoulders above everyone else.

She is amazing when the ball is in space, but really needs to add another string to her bow so she can find a way to get involved.

Shelly Health one of the most underrated players in the AFLW.

Paxy becoming a real Karen.

That said. The inconsistencies on holding the ball kill this game

When there's so much fine Irish to choose from, they picked 'tie me kangaroo down'.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
