Dogs  v hawks will be interesting.  Our contested footy strategy was one that was supposed to stand up in finals. It will be interesting to see if the Hawks attack minded game holds up against the dogs.

The Hawks remind me a bit of the Demons of '87

They are riding the crest of a wave and if they can get past the Doggies, their probable SF opponent will be the Cats at the MCG

Port in Adelaide would be a lot tougher but Port are coming off a straight sets exit in last years finals campaign, so the pressure would be on them

I can see the Hawks winning at least 2 finals

If the Cats go out in straight sets (very possible) will they get the same heat after winning a flag as we did? No finals and straight sets is worse than 2x straight sets.

Finally playing extra time!

I think they've been playing extra time in regular finals for a while now or at least had the rules for it.

Not sure what the GF rules are.

Hope Port win tonight. Have no issue with them & I'm sure Ken would like to shut a few down.

Think Brisbane will easily beat Carlton.

But tomorrow night will be great.  See how the younger hawks cope with finals pressure.

I have minimal interest in the finals this year.

But I hope Jee-long get bundled out in straight sets. I dislike Bris-bane too. And I'm not overly fond of Hawthorn. Come to think of it, I don't like Port either.

That leaves the Dogs, Swans, GWS and Carlton. Actually I don't particularly like Carlton or Dogs either.

So, that leaves the Swans and GWS. I probably have a slight preference for GWS ... they'll go crazy in western Sydney if they win. ("They'll" ... perhaps that should be singular?)

whoever loses tonight goes out in straight sets. whoever wins tomorrw makes a prelim in sydney.

whichever sydney team wins makes the grand final and probably wins the flag.

I never imagined I'd forgive GWS for the whole Scully saga, but it did lead to us getting Jesse, which led to May, and eventually, a premiership. I think that helped me move on from it.

Honestly, I'd be happy to see Jesse win a flag, and since I don’t know any GWS supporters, I’d be fine with them taking it too – no risk of dealing with anyone insufferable!

The rest can go in the bin. Go Giants.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
