I'd rate Goodys tenure as

One great season - 2021

One good season - 2018

Three underperformed seasons - 2017, 2022-23

Four bad seasons - 2019-20, 2024-25

Two seasons out of nine where we went above par is not a good strike rate (especially considering he wasn't coming in at the start of the rebuild like most coaches do).

Forever thankful for the flag but besides the 2021 season I don't think he's got the most out of this list.

Thatโ€™s a very fair summation Dr.

too late a s usual for MFC Damage done!

Talk about misery loving company.

This thread must in some way be cathartic for you guys โ€˜cause Iโ€™m reading the same shiite over and over and over and over again.

Either that or you just luv sticking the knife into anything MFC related. But that cannot be right because we all love the Dees donโ€™t we!?

Please tell me what your intentions are next year when (if) Goody is still coaching us. Is this thread going to keep on keeping on for another year? If so I wonโ€™t be reading it. I value my sanity too much.

Dropping out of two sets of finals without firing one due to poor kicking and aging fwds was bad enough.

Then eleven wins last year with still no improvement in the previous issues.

And this year will see even less wins with the same problems.

Definitely time for Goody to go and quite a few others including players.

We are tending down each year and on our way to a wooden spoon.

Bad enough to blow two years of double chances but what we have been serving up this year has been both sublime and atrocious.

Sadly mostly atrocious with our tallest forward averaging a hearty seven goals out of ten games with maybe a total of 17 for the year. Wth?

Oh but you can't say a bad word about our coach because some nuffy will come after you

The Goodie acolytes will keep their Conga line going while those that care about the Club will work for what's best for the team.

I do appreciate that he was good enough to win us a flag.

But we should have won two.

I believe that losing Melksham and Gus was a significant factor in both years.

That's not on Goody's head.

But our lack of depth of fwds and inaccuracy which contributed to our finals losses is.

And they have been ongoing for over three years now reflecting our current status.

We need an infusion of proactive coaching which involves making hard calls in cutting players and staff.

I don't feel Goody is mean enough.

In any case we will be lucky to string together 8 wins this year so surely a new coach can't hurt.

If something isn't done we will miss finals for a third year in a row.

No, Dub. People clearly donโ€™t get it and thatโ€™s why we are reminded of it every five [censored] minutes. Oh and did you know we went out in straight sets in two consecutive years?! I know rightโ€ฆ lucky for us this gets mentioned a million times a day or we might forget it. Happy clappers (like me) who luvs them a loss need constant reminding of the sad situation our club is in, and how Goody should be hanged, drawn and quartered.

Why do grown-[censored] people think that repeating something ad nauseam effects change? This is the domain of toddlers and old folks with dementia.

@Ghostwriter, you are banned from this thread - mainly for your own sanity - but also because every โ€œhappy clapperโ€ that comes on here helps generate more of the same recycled shiite weโ€™ve seen for the last 183 pages.

Enjoy your day.

I value my sanity to the extent that if Goodwin is still coaching our club, I will retire from posting in this thread ,at the very least!

Problem is this, NC: if the disparagement of Goody was confined to this thread alone Iโ€™d be more than happy to eschew it. But just like the insidious disease that it is itโ€™s spread to pretty much every thread thereby rendering this one no different to the others. Even the NON-MFC thread is contaminated every single week.

Edit: cue a post from the broken record (above)

Ok Iโ€™ll get off this thread now. Both PF and Beelzebum have vowed to not post in this thread should Goody be our coach in 2026, which he will. Iโ€™m happy. ๐Ÿ˜

Be so much better if we just WON...and made it habitual.

Funny that many chide some for seemingly repetitive criticism...

And same folk gladly allow Goodwin to roll-out the same ๐Ÿ’ฉ talk the same ๐Ÿ’ฉ resulting in.... yep ๐Ÿ’ฉ

But that's fine.

Happy clappers might want to adjust their double standards.

I have one. Success.

Neil, you can continue to be positive about the same old team, not working, and losing.. some of us want to see change to hopefully come back up the ladder.

Ofc none of us enjoy this.

Once thereโ€™s a bit of success and we arenโ€™t watching Groundhog Day, then we might be able to enjoy the team again, and wonโ€™t be required to rant about how many issues there are that seem to be swept under a rug.

SD, donโ€™t get me wrong. I think itโ€™s time for a change - and Iโ€™ve said as much in this thread, and the reasons why. But Iโ€™ve only said it once. Surely thatโ€™s enough. Surely I donโ€™t need to repeat myself over and over again, like so many on here do. This thread is Groundhog Day.

I for one will stfu if the team won games was competitive silenced the coaches bs press conferences and delivered a coherent game plan

Till then I will continue to push for change as soon as possible

If that's ok with HCs on here

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
