Stats donโ€™t look great, but agreed that a) Iโ€™d play him again in the vfl this year and b) there is a rookie spot for him.ย

yeah, but it's as much what he's doing without the ball for mine

getting to the right spots, putting the defensive pressure on, and his tackling is very good - albeit he's given away a few (soft) frees with his enthusiastic attack on the oppo player

Commentator unabashed bombers fanboy. Give the man a minty.

Yep. baffling draft choice IMO. project player way off it at the moment when there was ample ready made depth available

@kozzyisalegendย Kentfield was overlooked by every club in last year's national draft and rookie draft, as well as any opportunities for supplementary signings (ie if we wanted to push to replace Brayshaw).

He was then taken as pick 11 in the mid season rookie draft.

So think of Kentfield as a player that we drafted as a rookie at the end of last season. First we have low expectations that he will make it. His selection is as a project player that we hope might develop. Most players drafted as rookies never play an AFL game. Secondly, if he does make it, we expect he'll take a couple of years to develop to the point where he might push for an AFL game. Tall players take longer to develop. And he is as much a project tall as you'll ever get.

Comeon Casey dig in.!!

Yes but Fullarton was recruited primarily as a back up ruck to Gawn. He is a mile off it. As a ruck rover type he has been good so far today but that is a bit of an outlier. JVR and Petty are stronger in the ruck than him.

Sounds like a bad trade then. Such is life.ย

And I do wonder if he can play the role We are making sparrow play better than sparrow?ย

Depends of the role assigned to Sparrow I guess.ย

i think fullarton was recruited as a back-up to jvr

tall forward who can relief ruck as required

you wouldn't pick him over jvr nor petty or turner either based upon this year's standard of play

Disagree. He was basically the Grundy replacement.ย  Ruck who could play some time forward. He is not particularly good at either.

ย

56 hitouts to 12. Good to see our depth rucks are giving a nice audition for Gawn's spot... not

Laurie or Sparrow?

Casey under enormous pressure as the Bombers goal and the difference is just 5 points. The Demons canโ€™t get their hands on the football.

Commentators smoking something.ย  "Fullarton all over Bryan today". What?! Fullarton picking up cheap possessions around the ground. Bryan has massacred him in just about every ruck contest no more exemplified by the grab out of the ruck and a just missed snap at goal by Bryan. Mystifying.ย

Karma Verrall goals!

Fullarton racking it up at ground level and winning more clearances than any other midfielder picking up cheap possessions around the ground. Bryan has massacred him in the ruck but it's had zero effect on the balance of play just about every ruck contest no more exemplified by the grab out of the ruck and a just missed snap at goal by Bryan. Mystifying.ย

Weโ€™ve really missed Jefferson up forward today. And probably Schache for that matter. Itโ€™s not surprising that McAdam has struggled without Jefferson setting him up / being at his feet.ย

still doesn't defy the fact he was a baffling draft choice

Laurieโ€™s had a really good second half. There is some terrible choices under pressure, but heโ€™s the one who keeps being given the ball / finding the ball under pressure - so there is that.ย
