Me too. I've been triggered by the negativity. I enjoyed the game and enjoyed getting the win. My expectations seem to be different to many others. I understand that people use this place to vent and there is a lot of things not great right now.

Coming on here to discuss the win hasn't been a good use of my time.

Confirmed by lab as 70m by Brad Johnson post game review who was ropable and has been banging on about these for a month or more.

Staggering.

You can forgive 5m, but that was truly unforgivable.

I can think of a worse one.

That is a 40% over-estimation of the distance. 40%!  There are literally two arcs drawn on the turf marking the required distance that the umpires could look to for reference. It is inexcusable. Good on Brad Johnson for railing on this.

Clarry’s form is a huge concern....  He was stiff to give away the first 80m penalty in the history of the game it must be said.

Believe it was 2 x 50m, the second one for giving lip to the umpire.

there wasn't.  they were just spirited and going for the kill. reminded me of when we beat Hawthorn in 2016. They were top of the ladder, coming off 3 flags, won like 10 games in a row up to that game, and we steamrolled them in the last. Sounded like we had 90k there that day.

Unforgettable day. I was there that day at giving it hard to the Hawks supporters. They gave it back too. But THAT win on THAT day by the our beloved Dees against the Hawks was ecstatically cathartic. Our supporters got to watch loser Hawks  supporters leave early. IT was awesome. I began to believe we were on the right track after that game...

I’m with you, Dub. The escalating vitriol is stifling, and is only getting worse. It’s depressing and it’s demoralising. We have a win following three consecutive losses but you wouldn’t know it. The abrasive, belligerent bastards grind you down by attrition. And these are supposedly Demons fans 🙄

Tholstrup good early before fading

Rivers needs to be into the midfield permanently

His evasion of 3 opponents and then breaking free to effect THAT running goal was sublime.

It’s embarrassing being in the 8 right now.

No it isn't!

It's good. I like it!

An ugly win that got us back in the 8 is something I'm celebrating right now.

Look out Bris Vegas. Here we come!

GO DEES!

Meh.

We are an absolute shadow of our former self and its a sad state of affairs watching perform the way that we did.

I'm scared for next week.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself

Wat the actual f@-k is wrong with some of you on here 😭

Right? I’m convinced some people are disappointed and even angry that we won because they won’t get to enjoy another week of relentlessly bagging our club and calling for Goody’s head. The win spoiled their party.

For one example, someone posted “worst possible result.” WTAF? Worse than a loss? Shouldn’t a loss be the worst possible result? [censored] unbelievable 😑

I did the exact same thing. The moment the siren went I was gone.

I stayed. I sang.

I enjoyed the 3 point win against Norf. It was tremendously relieving.

I sang the song loud. I hoisted my scarf above my head when doing so. As loud as I could, I yelled "whadda we sing" and also "woo hoo" with gusto when "The Grand Old Flag" was blasted over the loudspeakers.

Norf.

A bogey team of ours for so many years. Not any more. But they almost beat us tonight! Didn't they beat us 17 times in a row? Now we've beaten them 6 or 7 times in a row?

Come on Dees! Each week is a new opportunity.

We're gonna give the Lions Hell!

Go Dees!

I think they are saying at least if they came over the top of us we’d be looking at getting rid of a coach who has obviously lost the players

So, losing this match would’ve been fine because it would mean we’re one step closer to “getting rid of” our coach? Wowww. That’s a new low.

Ahh ... No it's not.

And it aint good.

There is NO reason for ever preferring a loss over a win. And that’s exactly what “worst possible result” (after a win) means.

Is there any chance Oliver is able to step up in tracs absence, he’s not even playing at the level of an average midfielder. I question why we are even continuing to play him, surely it’s not good for the team moral to have a player who isn’t able to contribute at the level needed.

Incoming 90 points loos against Brisbane.

I wish there was some hope for the team but not really, I will still torture myself and watch the game because I will sink with this ship.

Well you can only hope, huh.

Of course you’ll still torture yourself and sink with this ship… why wouldn’t you? You’re having a ball, you’re positively revelling in it.

Yes ... A little extreme.
But does it really matter what some unknown on the internet posts.
Everyone is allowed an opinion.
Whether you agree with it or not.

I didn’t say anyone wasn’t entitled to an opinion. But I’d be interested in hearing the poster explain how a win was the worst possible result. 🤷‍♀️

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
