He was dumped as the unp refuses to blow the whistle against Coburg players caught with the pill

Piranha Park feeding frenzy. Casey bleeding 🩸 goals.

Edited by Tarax Club

currently unwatchable. A big bodied ruck from a suburban team dominating and too strong for Verral or Fullerton. Methinks Fullerton spends too much time compiling and he doesn't appear to like body contact. The mid field is deplorable. Today we are way too slow. Laurie, Brown are too small and slow hence the opp speedy mid has umpteen clearance 21 kicks and has run them off their feet.

Coburg switch play at every opportunity  and continually run the ball down one side of the ground unopposed. they run hard, tackle harder and will have a big win.

the only positive is Jefferson marking and tackling the rest of the forwards are getting frost bite as the ball rarely enters the forward line. Casey look right off today

Smashed at clearance

No chase or smart defensive  positioning to slow down their d50 exit

Big focus on territory, forward half turn over and clearance from the coaches box

I know it's difficult to retain players but a strong  Casey outfit has been the bedrock of our success in recent years. Young players greatly benefit from being in competitive and successful VFL teams. This apparently is no longer a priority . Regardless of any comeback to be touched up by a lowly Coburg with its own injury concerns is embarrassing and concerning.

Thoughts so far

Fullerton: really needs to be more physically, strange recruitment decision IMO as getting taught a lesson by a local ruckman

Tholstrup: love his physicality, but his positioning is really poor and quite underwhelming for a 1st round pick

Jefferson: love how he plays in front and applies pressure, just needs to convert

Brown: needs to find more of it and hit the gym

Laurie: needs to clean up his disposal as he has no trouble finding the pill

Adams: barely sighted

Howes: needs to show more intensity. Loves jogging half paced

Moniz Wakefield: not a defender. Should be in the fwd line

Sestan: very disappointing for a guy almost in the 1s. His second efforts are poor

Also a bit confused why luker isn't playing ? Assume he's injured as it's not great for development just letting him sit out of games

How did the Gentile not get picked in the mid season draft?

May as well be watching Warner out there.

The club would rather take an 18 year old averaging 9 touches a game with potential, than a ready to go midfielder absolutely tearing it up

This has gone on long enough.

I would spend the first 10 minutes of half time getting the midfielders doing sprints across the centre square. Maybe some ground pick ups and handballs both sides just to see their hands are working.

The Experiment with Fullarton starting in ruck needs to stop and he should be HFF. Even if he hits it, he doesn’t know where it’s going.

literally got drafted three days ago, from wa - has he even moved across yet?

tholstrup loves a tackle; means he's second to the ball a lot

Most of the draftees I've seen get a flight the next day. So he should have been here Thursday

Just an average player made to look good by a total lack of defensive intent.

are any of them drafted to an interstate club playing this weekend?

He could be at the game, or trying to sort out accommodation.

pretty sure he's billeted with tholstrup, at a director's house

hopefully he debuts soon

not gonna help the complete lack of midfield depth at casey tho

Already staying with tholstrup. They sort all this stuff out pre draft

Fullarton ginger, 'my shoulders sublexed'

Momentum has swung? AMZ 15 disposals.

Hallelujah holding the ball decision correctly paid.

Much better intensity from Casey. Jefferson and Kolstrup working hard and in everything up forward. Again, finishing and composure still a concern.

Jeffo,  just needed to finish his work, great run and fend off for the big man

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
