And yet, how many hundreds of millions has been spent at that cesspool?

WWSW, I was wanting to articulate why I thought it. Yours is a good comparison. I guess I just think that, like players, they can just lose whatever made them successful. And love or hate him, he's been a bit of a walking headline for awhile. That doesn't normally auger well.

Just have a gut feel that Alastair Clarkson's coaching stint at Norf won't end well.

Just like the start and the middle.

Hah Rab, he was a winner and so were his teams.

How many years does the competition endure North like this for? They’ve got the champion experienced coach, the extra high draft picks, the father sons, and they are still a blight on the comp.

I see a lot of Melbourne 2008/2009 with North, in that they think young kids will help them rise. It wasnt until Roos & Jackson came onboard that we started heading in the right direction.

Kids alone won’t do it, and with North’s poor quality leaders, who’s going to drive the standards?

Hi RtG. I meant at North.

We wouldn’t need Langdon and Windsor if we played on this ground.

I just had a quick look online and it looks like shallow or straight wings are the norm at SANFL grounds. Even the old Adelaide Oval had pretty much the same dimensions as this one tonight.

Now I agree with that Rab!! :)

To be fair, I do look at a bloke like Cameron Zurhaar, and think he will never reach the level I thought he might. Poor decision maker and maybe a product of playing in a poor team. We can relate.

Absolutely DD. And I think they've nailed the timeslot for this match. Non -event

Not sure if this hurts or helps us.
On the one hand Brisbane are regrowing their confidence and will be able to rest some players if this continues to blow out in the second half.
On the other hand it is difficult to change gears to a hard contest after an easy win..

26-9 inside 50’s. Ouch.

Lions on track to kick more goals than North’s total inside 50 count 🤮

I know. It's hard to believe we were once that bad.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
