Interesting reflection of the "team"......

There has been an ongoing problem with the "team" things all year. The shepherding, the tackling etc seems to have slipped out of our game altogether.

Pound for pound we are probably more talented than the Kangaroos, but there is a sense of team that they have and we don't at the moment.

Unfortunately the working for each other stuff just doesn't seem to be there.

And I hope that description made sense to those reading this, because it came out a lot more frilly than I usually like !!!

A united team is important but considering only 8 players (HUN article today) have played all matches this year that is very hard to develop, and maintain, the 'team' thing.

Up till now, we have had excuses. There is no option but to win at all costs, or the wolves will be out.

Daniher will find out whos willing or not, Its time for the Dees to show some guts. :angry:

deano wolves have been out sinc round 3. we might scrap some wins but the boys are going to take a while to bounce back from this one...im not sure we'd even have the customary 'new coach' win if ND got sacked...

This club will be in absolute crisis if they lose, make no mistake.

Curran and Riley are on definate stand by, plus they've taken the reigns in pre-season games and have enough experience to take the gig for 13 weeks.

I can't accept 0-9. ND will just be embarrasing himself if he keeps going. Why would he want to coach a bunch of blokes who simply aren't responding to their coach?

Gardiner's been quiet about the coach all season, but one day very soon he'll snap his finger and say enough is enough.

Just my opinion, but is it that far-fetched??

MFC will be in crisis and will become a media circus joke if it sacks ND prior to the end of the season.

Its in everyone's interest that the Club and ND ultimately part terms in a respected manner at year end.

It solves nothing. Exacerbates the problems, puts the Club in turmoil and reflects poorly on the Board's conduct.

Hardly a good way to attract a good replacement coach for next year.

Thankfully, the Board has more sense that what is regularly splashed on this site.

a mid season sacking would be unproffessional and destablilising in the long term. we believe we are a good side with the posibility to put in good performances over the next 5-10 years. we are having a bad year, but make no mistake the club sees this as an aberration. sacking a coach mid season is something expected of a team who has no hope of making finals in the next couple of years, bringing along a cleanout etc, moving into a rebuilding phase. im telling you now that wont be happening so i doubt we'll see him sacked.

Some think that unless you share their profound understanding of the machinations of the club, coach and players, criticism is proof that you aren't a true supporter. You're just one of the many illogical and unrational members who rock up, year in and year out, forking over your hard earned for whatever membership catagory you can afford, going to as many matches as you can get to, throughout the good years and bad. I see where you are coming from Rhino, but let me ask you this...

10 years ago, Daniher took over the club. Since then, we have had a new board, new president, new assistant coaches, new captain and most importantly new players. Everything has changed since 1997... everything but Neale Daniher.

So when he is the only constant in a premiership-less period, who else can we look to for answers?

I don't think it is misguided to want Daniher gone, although I agree that a mid-season sacking achieves nothing but further turmoil.

As much as I genuinly dislike Daniher as coach of this football club right now (I've never liked him as Melbourne coach ever since 03) I think it would be a financial disaster for the club to sack him right now, and they just won't. Unless he resigns and forfeits his payment, he will remain coach for the rest of year.

That's just ridiculous. So if we win and go 1 - 8, then it changes. Then Daniher knows how to coach. Read Kevin Sheedy's article from last weekend's feral scum. He makes a very good point about the idiotic opinions of people who will say "he can't coach" when they are 3 - 4, but if they were 4 - 3, then he is a great coach. Interestingly, he makes a very pointed comment about one Garry Lyon. Perhaps disrespect for our coach is a constant amogst melbourne faithful and players.
