Movin' fine and ready to bust out some Taylor Swift moves.

Swift? Pfft … I’d say he’s got the moves like Jagger. 🕺 or Travolta

Training on Wednesday is at Casey. The boys fly out to Adelaide that same day.

Numbers are down, 24 in the main group. none who played yesterday at Casey are with them.

Light duties include, BBB, Lever, Chandler, Spargo.

McAdam is in the main squad, as is Melky, Turner, and Hunter.

TMac in runners, though full training.

No May

Smacca (McAdam), Melk & Sestan with the main group

I know kev suggested Smacca would be back likely Anzac Eve, but I'd love to see him debut against the Crows and kick a bag.

Thanks as always kev

Particularly interested in Melk and Turner being in the main group already.  How well did they move?  And were they involved at all in competitive work?

Wonderful news to hear McAdam is finally back in the main squad. Wonder if we'll finally see a return date in the injury reports instead of TBC. Also Melk although he will still be a while away you'd think. And Turner and Hunter back in. Injury list disappearing at the right end of the season.

NO MAY!!! Bloody wimp. Take it like a man and get out there. Can't believe he didn't turn up.

Ok Ok I'm not saying that to him at Florent. Well anywhere actually.

Great news to hear it's only cracked ribs and not broken and no internal damage. Broken are a whole other ball game. Cracked are a shocker if you've ever been through it. Can't see them rushing him back for Crows but it is Steven May so who knows. Would be a great bonus if he's back by Lions game.

And great news on Lever. But he's pretty heavily strapped.

I’m on annual leave so have ridden the bike down for a look today. Eden Zanker was mowing the grass when I got here.

BBB has gone back to the rooms but no strapping on the left knee this morning and no limp.

Incredible training innovation by the Dees. Leaving no blade of grass unturned to get an edge.

McAdam mustn't be far off.  Kicking snags from 50

Would be fantastic if he could come in against Adelaide. Will especially help if Petty needs to play down back in the absence of May and/or BB needs a rest.

How is Ricky Lever going? This is how Ricky Lever’s going…

in his hand is the scrunched up ball of tape that was on his knee and is about to be drop-kicked into the nearest bin. 😃

Lingers just kicked a torp (bpuncing through) goal for fun from 65 out

Petts & Clarry still practicing set shots from 40

She also does that job at home ... in the garden of Eden.    sorry

Short session. They’re done already. Just Fritta and Clarrie taking shots on goal. Melks, Spaz, Marty, Tracc, Rooey, Sestan running around the boundary.

Now everyone off the ground except for my boy Melksy. He’s kicking a footy around by himself. Now he’s running along the boundary. He said he’ll definitely be right to go for “the second half of the season.” 🥳🥳🥳

Sestan last man standing doing tackling, agility, 1v1 marking & groundball drills

Bowey also...laps

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
