I am getting worried about Jefferson

Jefferson as a forward, I was worried. Just didn't know how to read the ball, find space, or get involved. I am interested in seeing him play the backline, a much less creative role. Sits in zone or follows the opps forward. Show us those good hands!

Caleb Lewis is a 196cm prospect from VFL Footscray VFL who formerly was with the Sandringham Dragons.

Caleb looked good at training yesterday, in the non contact sims. Appeared taller than 196cm.

He's worth keeping an eye out for mid season draft.

He's got a very strong contested mark game and could be seen as a Petty replacement if he ends up going at the end of the year.

When he plays down back his intercept marking is a big feature.

A few years ago, the club recruited Jay Lockhart from there and, after a year at VFL level, he was picked up by Melbourne in the 2018 Pre-season supplemental selection period. Lockhart made his senior debut against Geelong in round 2 of the 2019 season. He played 22 games but was delisted by Melbourne following the club's drought breaking premiership in 2021. I believe he went north and played for Southport.

Jay Lockhart is still with Southport. He snagged a couple for them in their win over Port Melbourne yesterday.

How's his 1 on 1 body on body strength/bring the ball to ground stuff?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
