Sheedy said on footy classified 11 games could get you in.

It could but I would not bank on it.

There have been iinstances inthe past 10 years of teams finishing ninth with twelve wins.

To be sure you would need 12 wins and good percentage or 13 wins to be sure.

The season doesn't finish until the final siren in the final match......

But at this point realistically our chase for a finals berth is probably out of the question.

That being said there is still a hell of a lot of work to be done, and things to learn that don't necessarily include playing finals.

My Heart says If we can upset West Coast who knows? that would give us alot of self belief for the following weeks.

Where's there's a will there's a way.

Having said that my Head tells me we will we miss the finals by a couple of games.

Prove me wrong fella's, prove me wrong.

...and if anyone should know, it would be Sheedy.

in two weeks we'll have our full list to choose from...

how unfortunate that by this stage we will not have a chance for the finals...

i would love to see us win around 7 games, and stuff up a few teams on their way to the finals. it would give us a top 4 draft choice (which will add a certain 200 game player to our list...far better than the picks 12-18 we have had in previous years) and confidence coming into next year.

it will also mean that guyz like pettard, bell, mclean, sylvia, dunn, bate, P.johnson, Jones and frawley can start next year as starting 18 players...

if we came 5-8th this year again then we would probably enter next year with these guyz still completely untried. and the reality is that in your first couple of full seasons of afl you will probably not be consistent. these guyz will be better off and more consistent for this season.

it will also mean that guyz like bizzel, ferguson, wheatley, ward and brown will no longer have to be kept on the list in case the untried youngsters arent up to it. we will know who's up to it, and these guyz will be delisted.

next years starting 18 (i hope)

whelan, carrol, frawley

pettard, rivers, bell

moloney, mclean, johnstone

green, dunn, yze

davey, neitz, robertson

white, bruce, mcdonald

Int: P.Johnson, Sylvia, Jones, Bartram, Newton, Buckley, Bate

depth: Godfrey, Garland, (number 4 draft pick), C.Johnson

I acidentally voted 'yes' but i meant 2 say no. The season is not over for the Demons because the season is never over for any team. Melbourne has suffered terriable injuries but we cant blame that for our lack of wins. The reason we have been losing is because of our lack of form and confidence but now we r starting 2 turn our season around. Im not saying we r goin 2 make it into the finals but we can still changle for the rest of the season. I believe that Melbourne will finish strong and we will still be considered a threat to any1!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
