Rest Neita?

OK,

Before I get started, I AM AWARE that we have little to NO depth at FF. I am a tad concerned that neita is not up to it at the moment. He has tried over the past few weeks and shown some glimpses of gold, but overall he has been sluggish and underdone. It isn't so much form that is causing this, a combination of form and niggles are causing the great man to be beaten by lesser opponents.

A week to sit and recover could be the answer. We have NO CHANCE against the eagles next week. Instead of sending him on a plane to the west we could be having him sitting out for ONE week so he can come back stronger.

I am all for it. We will be losing our best forward, but the gamble could be worth it if he comes back the week after closer to 100%.

Any thoughts? Is it feasible?

it wont happen. he is our most important forward and the captain ofour football club. even if he was rested i couldnt imagine him not going to perth...he is too proud to do that...

No, no, no!

Neitz is fine. He was not struggling fitness wise today. He looks out of touch because our forward structure is not allowing him space. A run on a wide open Subiaco is exactly what he needs.

Besides if Neitz doesn't play we expose one of our other forwards to Glass.

neitz had a poor game true.

but so did most of the other forwards.

Davey was good. but mostly played in the midfield. as did Sylvia.

miller was terrible. bate was below average. dunn did nothing at all.

I am sick and tired of stupid, narrow-minded, short-term memory supporters calling for our best players heads after one poor game!!!

This is a absolutely rediculous thread.

It was the same with Miller last week and before he hurt his ankle he was terrific today. It was the same with davey and the last 4 weeks he has averaged 25 disposals, 6 marks and 2.25 goals a game. It was the same with sylvia (one of our best today...came of age) and with Yze (probably been our best player overall this season and imo would be leading our best and fairest (i am so happy with yze's output every week)...

instead of basing things on one poor output, how about a little bit a thought put into the posts before they are written! rediculous thread neitz is our best leader, our captain and best forward!!! honestly this player bagging is getting old

One player who definitely needs a rest is Beamer.

I feel sorry for him as he clearly just cannot run and compete at the level that he is used to.

Season is gone, we might as well give him some time off to recover.

Wow are you serious? I thought Bate played real well! He has been showing some great signs over the last few weeks.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
