Bruce........

We would be stupid to say no to Yze_Magic's proposed deal, but as someone has already said, West Coast would be stupid to say yes.

If all we have to give up is an ordinary forward, and a utility with suspect kicking to get Judd, he wouldn't be the best player in the competition!

He might be a good player but if everyone thinks getting rid of our best player and an up and coming star in Miller is going to firstly boost morale they are delusional and secondly help our team win a premiership they have major problems. If they make that trade count me out as a supporter

Im more curious about TJ. He cant handle a tag so y doesent ND put in forward when hes being tagged??

TJ goes forward out of play, Tagger follows.......

TJ not in play gets few possessions...

Makes Tagger look good ...mission accomplished.

Part of TJ's problem has been the lack of class in the midfield with the injuries that it is so obvious to throw a tag on one of the few class players in the MFC side.

You're right, we should offer them Ward and Bizzell.

FFS, we're talking about Judd, a proven premiership player and captain, a Brownlow medallist and so on, he is worth more than most clubs will be willing to give up. Certainly more than Bruce and Miller.

I agree it doesnt help when no-one around him doesnt look any good. Obviously too many of our players are not having a great season so far. TJ has had a few injuries but I think from here on in he will start to warm up to his best form

I would trade Bruce at the end of the year while he still has value

Hopefully CAC can come up with something

Bruce, Miller and a first round pick to West Coast for Chris Judd and a 2nd rounder

Sounds good to me

WCE footy department loads gun and shoots themselves in the foot as they accept ridiculous one sided deal.

BTW, what would WCE want with Miller??

If we could do that trade, I would do it in an instant. No problem. Steal of the century. However it is a dumb one sided deal. WCE would be screwed over it.

Bruce.....our best player???? Top 10 yes but best player???

Miller an up and coming star????:lol::lol:

And what dont we want with Miller? I am not putting up with another rubbish deal I am still seeting over Woewodin I am not going through that rubbish again

Oh God.

What's Woewodin doing this year? Consistently taking on the best small forwards in the competition and beating them?

Yep, didn't think so.

I love how when the going gets tough Miller gets it. Everyone treats him like hes been around for a hundred years. He is still young and has a lot to learn have some bloody patience. Who would be our best player then? If not the best then Bruce would be second or third, he is a match winner every commentator would agree

Keep seething. It will stop you seeing some sense.

The FD saw the slide with Woey and rightfully got rid of him.

BTW, it would be a rubbish deal if you were barracking for WCE.

Woewodin went downhill at Collingwood cos of where he was played! I can see sense you are blind if u think Judd can turn the team around. Losing Bruce and Miller would put team morale at an all time low. I frankly couldnt care less what sort of deal WCE they are not my priority. Judd is going anywhere anyway build a bridge

Every commentator????? Do you develop your own thoughts or just nod when ever they speak?

Here are my 10 most important players for MFC:

McLean

Neitz

Rivers

White

Bruce

TJ

Carroll

Jones

McDonald

Bate

The top 3 I would rate better than Bruce. TJ.

Miller.????? Keep seething. Ouch the truth would be too much.

I agree about Woey. He played midfield. He was not good enough anymore.

Where have I said Judd would turn things around? He would give it a shake.

He would be the first fair dinkum star this club has had since Flower.

Miller was out most of last year when we won 12 on the trot. Did wonders for morale.

A second thought lets keep all our players even those till they are well past it even those that are not any good. We wont win any games but we will know those players will always be with us and we can sleep in peace at night.

No wonder we have not won a flag in over 40years and pine for the ski season.

I do not appreciate you personal attack on me, this is about the team. Whenever I have watched footy on TV someone will always say if Bruce can step up and do some magic Melbourne will win - ur in denial mate.

Well White isnt having the best year so knock him down the list, neither is Carroll, Jones is too new to be making an impact same with Bate he is too green makes silly mistakes. In finals against Freo last year Miller was the only person on the team to play consistently. He is having a slow start to the year but he will come good with confidence it doesnt help the supporters yelling and screaming at him constantly it never happens to any other players.

And I dont think u should stereotype ur own supporters either, I have had enough of this ski season [censored]

Bruce's kicking does, has and always will hold him back. He is not a reliable kick. In fact he is worse than that on occasion.

He is however one of our best and should not (will not) be dropped.

How can one of our best players be a bad kick I dont get it? One of the biggest aspects of AFL is kicking so how can u be one of our best and be a shocking kick? Doesnt make sense

Bruce IS a disgrace to the Team today & the jumper.

Rarely have I seen a post more determined to say more about the poster than the intended target.

Now, I'll preface this by saying I stopped reading this thread when I got to this sentence so I hope you've said this statement in jest and you've gone on to reflect that Cam Bruce has been easily one of our best players for a good many years now.

If you've made the above comment seriously then go see someone, you need help.

Cam Bruce is not a knock them down bash through packs type of player. He is a fantastic running player able to find the ball in contested situations and do something with it. He can play any position on the ground except ruck and has been used by Danners to fill holes in our lineup and take the oppositions most dangerous player. He's thrashed players like Johnson and Peter Bell, no mean feat for anyone. He's played this role to his detriment for the good of the team. To suggest he is anything but a credit to our jumper is just ignorant.

Why do these sites attract people who think it is their right to abuse, insult, offend and deride people at the club. As someone once said "With freedom of expression also comes responsibility. You exercised none of the latter. It's one thing to have an opinion, albeit an ill informed one, but another not to have the decency to use moderation when expressing a view." I hope they don't mind me quoting them here.

I hope you use whatever limited intellect you have when you post in future. You've wasted none with this comment.

You seriously are not the sort of supporter we want or need right now, open ur eyes and ears and listen to yourself

I want us to win a flag, not play tiddleywinks & just make up the numbers. We will never win a flag with players like Bruce who don't put their body on the line when it's required.

I worked very closely to the players for 6years of AFL & I actually know what the Difference is between the successfull sides & the also ran's.

I should expand that to say kicking under pressure in play.

Bruce is a great athelete, reads the play well, is a natural ball magnet and his disposal by hand is typically great. His set shot for goal is fair (but will never be compared to green), he has a great football brain and is a fantastic tagger.

His kicking in play still leaves a lot to be desired

What's your pedigree based in, Pal..............

CRACKUP. Did he really get warning for saying "Bruce is a disgrace"? Fan that is going a bit over the top dont you think? Take a chill pill cowboy!

Personally I like Bruce but he can be a front runner, like many of our players for over a decade now. When they are good, they are great and when they are bad they are very very ordinary... no middle ground. Thats the prob.

Gee do commentators exist on hyperbole and cliche?.....Hmmm. They say it but Bruce has not done it even half as often they have said it.

They are important players because MFC are stuffed if they are out injured. Note I did not say he was better than Bruce. Who replaces Carroll at FB????

Have a look at our grand midfield without McLean and Jones in the mix....2nd year and he is ver important.

Bate is going to be very very important to MFC and if we were to be successful this year he was one of the elements.

Miller took 12 marks and 19 disposals and was inconsequential. He is a limited footballer and has been for years. I dont deny he tries and he does...he is not that good.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
