Gawn - dominated the centre

Petracca - gradually outperformed Clarrie

Oliver - wonderful first half

Chandler - continued to excel

May - seemed more invested

Lever - was rarely required

Bowey - mopped up well

Rivers - versatile and steady

McVee - safe but quiet

Pickett - consistently sublime possessions

Hibberd - passionate and reliable

Grundy - a vital role

Brayshaw - almost perfect game

Langdon - amazing last quarter

Viney - perseverance and commitment

Sparrow - tagged Cunnington successfully

Neal-Bullen - some important connections

Hunter - great first half

vanRooyen - had little involvement

Fritsch - always looked dangerous

Harmes - had limited opportunities

Jordon - played role well

Schache - an average debut

Good work joeboy! Clearly at the top of your game.

I thought Hibberd was great at winning a contest but his disposal was very unreliable when he got it.

Hibbo played a solid game. Had some important intercepts and defensive clearances.  88% disposal efficiency. Played 3/4 only and still not imv 100%.

He has lost a yard of pace this year which might be why we have been playing him as a third tall instead of on the smalls, with Bowey, Rivers and McVee doing the smalls.

Brayshaw mus have been magnificent !!!

Definitely not 100% fit, however, he still gets the oppo’s best small/medium forward (Zurhaar).  18 disposals in 3/4 at 88%. My kingdom for such unreliability.

They’re asking Hibbo & Rivers to play extra tall on occasions this year so they can get Petty out of the backline which was absolutely necessary to increase their ball speed out of defence.
IMHO, you can’t play Lever, Petty, May & Brayshaw in defence against many teams that don’t have 3 super tall forwards as they are all slow movers of the footy.
The game demands that your defenders play on and transition the ball quickly into your Forward 50 and those 4, generally love to go back off the mark and assess their options, in the modern game, that equates to an eternity to get it moving.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
