The report against Chad Liddell for tripping was withdrawn - there is some justice in this world!

There are so many Johnsons /Johnstons at Sandy and Melbourne. It would be mighty confusing if you were the coach.

Another strong showing from Newton might see him get a game next week. Go Juice!

Although i really want the zebs to win. i hope it is done with Newton and Garland playing as tall forwards and not Ferg.

Good to see Wardy named.

why on earth does someone Juice's size get named on the wing ??

Strange ways at Sandy...yet still they kick @ss :-))

How often do they line up as named these days? Newton was selected on a hbf last week but started up forward and kicked 6 goals. Do yo want to go figure?

What's the bet Jamar rips it up for Sandy this week and then gets a game with the Dees in Round 7 and fails miserably again?!?!?!

I say it's an even money bet!!!

:P

If Jamar performs this week i would still force him to play another game to get his confidence up.

Jamar has been a MAJOR bust for us this year. I would go as far as saying that if he cannot recapture some of the talent he has displayed on a regular basis, the dees will be looking to spend on a ruckman come seasons end.

Pressure is on him. I hope he does well.

Frawley is playing for Sandy 2's against Coburg at Frankston on Sunday. He is lining up up at CHB for probably a half or so.

Jamar's a dominant ruckmen in the VFL. He was already smoking them 2 or 3 years ago but hasn't developed that to the AFL standard. Maybe VFL grounds are smaller and he can use his bulk better or maybe his just a big fish in a small pond. Whatever the case, it's disappointing to see promising talent not develop.

Great news.

If all goes well, he'll be playing seniors in no time.

He'll probably debut in Round 9.

yes, great news to hear about frawley, but guys don't forget about neville. He was injured last season and has been in the best the last two weeks, hopefully he can make his way to the sandy seniors. It looks like he is showing some promise and he deserves a spot more than some fringe players.

Also hope that newton can kick another big bag like last week and keep his name in the best through out the season and then hopefully make his debut later on in the year if our season keeps up the way it is at the moment.

I reakon if the Dees lose this week, Daniher should ask if he can scrap his team and input the Sandringham line up....

We got nothing to lose

The Sandringham Reserves play Coburg Reserves today at Frankston (game starts in a few minutes' time) in what can only be described as a sheer farce. This is the second time this year that Sandringham reserves have played a team whose seniors have had the bye. Last time the Box Hill Hawks played Roughhead, Osborne and Thurgood. For today's game, the VFL has given Coburg permission to play the following Richmond listed players:-

Riewoldt, Kingsley, Meyer, Pattison, White, Thursfield, Moore, Howat, Polo, Krakouer, Tivendale, Edwards.

I believe the decision was brought about by the fact that Coburg seniors last played on Anzac Day and next play on Sunday 13 May. Still, pathetic programming by the VFL and it makes a joke out of its reserves competition.

I wonder how the regular Coburg reserves players feel about being treated so shabbily?

Holy crap, they're going to get flogged, all well, at least Chip is going to get to play against AFL quality players! :)

Any news on what happened at Sandy?

[Edit] My bad, didn't see the report below.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
