Do I book that holiday in September?

0 - 4. I thought before today that when we lost to the Shockers the season was over. But looking at the fact Essendon and Hawthorn are 3 -1, Freo is only 1 - 3 and we went with them for a while, I am now caught in 2 minds as to whether the season is officially over in terms of any possibility of finals.

On the one hand, we would have to make history.

On the other hand, there is a lot of upside, and it's a better time to slump than rounds 19 - 22.

Anyone think we are still a chance, or is it a case of 2008?

Well it depends where you are planning on going? At this rate I would suggest Perth - at least you could partake in some Premiership celebrations....and they do celebrate don't they!

We can still make the finals. A little bit of luck, get Miller to take the concrete out of his glove, get Brock back quick, keep Sylvia and Dunn in the side, and learn to kick long and not stuff 'round with it - we could be there.

If we didn't have the injury list from hell, I would say it is just the calm before the storm....

But with the cattle we have on the sidelines, it would be a brave man to ponder finals in 2007!!

I can see us making a belated run for a finals berth in the latter part of the season but to come back from a winless first 8 rounds it would be a bloody miracle!!

Enjoy the snow! :)

Book away. We won't get our first win until at least round 6. If we lose that we may end up wooden spooners.

So the ski slopes of Canada far far away? Or Buller, just to hedge my bets? LOL

I think we may well make a late run. And fall at the last hurdle, Carlton.

I think we have a 5 to 20% chance of making the finals. Especially with the run home, and even if we win those games, our poor start to season will come back to bite us, as well as our percentage which currenly is on 60 :o

So i think booking holiday is a good move, but you never know. Maybe wait until after the QB game and see

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
