Tom McDonald 200th game this week?

Tom has been a super player for this club for a long term and absolutely deserves to play game 200 this week (and many more beyond that).

People just don't get how much of his work is done off the ball and behind the scenes. It's no coincidence that Ben Brown has averaged 3 goals a game when Tom has played this year, and only kicked 1 in the other game.

Ideally Tom shepherds the Harmes goal through, but most of the blame should fall on Weideman who stood in the goal square and watched the whole thing happen.

Weideman has been poor for a month since the Essendon game, although I don't mind him having a run in the ruck to get his hands on the ball as he did on Saturday. If Jackson comes back, Sam should be the one to drop out.

And he did.

It's a shame he hasn't got more coverage this week. 200 games is a very significant milestone, he has been at the one club and he is a premiership player at the club.

A couple of years ago we tried to trade him, couldn't and to his credit he worked on his fitness and improved his game. I know Chad Wingard is seen as the flashier player and well done on him getting to 200 if he does play, but he has done it at 2 clubs and he seems to be getting the attention.

Congrats on 200 games and kicking his 150th goal as well. Played well today, hope he can keep it up.

Well done TMac played your role well today and should have kicked 3. As previously mentioned great to kick your 150th in your 200th game still plenty of gas in the tank as well.!!!

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?
