I was sucked in by the model on the Melbourne FC Facebook video (Ed Langdon) and bought the long sleeve clash strip.

I do love the royal blue though.

Anyone know what the deal is with NB sizes. I have bought Large and XL in the past and there is no consistency in the sizes at all. The reproduction 90s Demon pre season we wore in members round, I got a large, it was so tight. Then I got a regular Large from NB outlet and it was fine. Then an XL and it was same as the L. It’s really confusing

footy jumper sizing in particular  is a lottery , posted about this in merchandize thread , the fabric itself makes sizing a tight fit if you buy a large but need an xl. tshirt fabric is a lot more giving. After buying the indigenous jumper in june  on line , I upsized the premiership jumper .

The royal blue logo on the navy blue home jumper imo looks pretty bad, but hopefully it'll grow on me.

The gold AFL logo is pretty special though, never thought I'd see it on a Dees jumper but here we are!!

The gold is yuck.

Selling more of the jumper to Zurich is worse.

Blue with a red v without 7000 special sponsors logos would be nice

The Gold is Magnificent

Gotta love the gold! First time we have had the privilege to have a gold AFL logo due to the Melbourne Demons being reigning AFL Premiers! 😁

I actually prefer the contrasting colors for sponsor logos. So the light blue Zurich logo on the dark/navy blue and red Demons Home jumper looks great. As for the light blue Zurich logo with the light/royal blue and red Demons Away jumper it hasn't changed from last year. I actually find it tacky and would prefer to have a dark blue Zurich logo to contrast the light/royal blue of the Demons Away jumper. Oh well....half way there I guess.

Furthermore, I am a bit traditional in that I would prefer the Melbourne Demons long-sleeved jumpers to have red cuffs at the end of them like we had in the 1990's.

Kind of like this...

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents on the matter.

Looks as though he’s wearing his older brother’s hand-me-down. 😆

I also love the royal blue. Especially when it comes to stuff like caps and beanies etc. This is mainly because I’m sick of how often some random will say, ‘Go bombers’ or similar because they think they’re seeing red and black. Any other team and it might be tolerable. But Essendon? 🤮🤮🤮

Also, I reckon Ed will be the reason there’ll be more people wanting the clash strip long-sleeved.

I want the long sleeves

Ridiculous how large the bloody Zurich logo is. Seems to dwarf the AFL logo on the other side and eats up a frustrating amount of the red yoke.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
