How did Sandy go??

Just wondering how Sandy went and more importantly Newton, Dunn and Garland, because 2 of those could be brought in this against Freo

Dunn, CJ and Pickett better play next week.

Dropping CJ was a complete disgrace to begin with.

Ferguson, YZE and Wheatley can go back where they came from.

You are joking, Jaded, why you consistently sink your knees into Yze is beyond me, fair enough he is not playing well, but to emphasize him as a dropping candidate when there are the equally or more bad Ferg, PJ, Jamar, and Bate and then support CJ, who cant earn his own football at senior level and has never done anything is a disgrace. There is no way in Hades' hell that CJ shouldnt have been dropped, he was dreadful against St Kilda and barring five minutes against Hawthorn was anonymous in that game. Time I think you took a quality not quantity approach to posting and maybe do a Level 1 coaching accred, while your at it. I think weve all got the point about Yze.

I find choosing who come in from the just results in the paper akin to picking teams with a blind fold.

CJ had to go down. He had given us nothing. Hopefully he will come back better for it.

Did Dunn and Pickett play a full game?

Agreed Goodoil. Johnson was useless in the 1st 2 rounds and certainly didn't deserve his spot. I actually am a big fan of his, however not only did he not get a touch when on the ground, he was clearly beaten by his opponents in 1 on 1 contests!

we need to blood in the youngsters and let them have experience, at the rate we are going with form and injuries what is the worst that could happen. Pettard and CJ should come in, also bring newton or dunn in. From todays game our only lively forward was green.

jaded did u actually watch a bloke called Daniel Ward who turned the ball over just about everytime he kicked the flippen ball! Yze is being played in the wrong position in the backline! he is more dangerouse up forward!

did SILVIA play?

agree with all of this except the yze bit. he was far from our worst today, and yes he made some bad mistakes, but i generally thought his application was better today.

please get dunn, pickett, CJ, rivers back into the team

and get rid of wheatley, brown, ferg and godfrey

Ward has something that we desperately need, which is pace.

I'm not a fan, and his kicking is woeful, but until Bartram is fit and playing, Ward will get a game. That's just how it is.

Yze should have come out breathing fire today. He layed one big tackle, which resulted in a free to Geelong.

He used to be a leader, and in the absence of so many leaders, he should have been out there putting his hand up and giving us something. He didn't.

RR, I don't care whether Dunn or Pickett were named in the best. I just care that they are fit enough to come back into the side and give us some class and hardness. I assume that Dunn played a full game, given he could still keep up his fitness with the sort of injury he had.

As for Bryon, Daniher said during the week he'll get another game for Sandy this week and play seniors in Round 4. I'm just hoping that he's right, because we could use Pickett.

CJ was wrongly picked on last week. In a team that had 18 odd passengers, he was the one that paid the price. We could have used his running and his skills today, especially on the wing or up forward (as he is not a defender).

Not wrongly picked on at all. He was the player who had given the team the least in first two weeks. Was rightly dropped. I am big fan of his, but I agreed with his omission.

Sylvia did not play today at Werribee.....not sure what the injury is...maybe he needs a long rest to fix up this osteo pubis problem....coming back then getting injured all the time will not help his cause..

Pickett and Dunn both played full games....Dunn needs a bit more time at Sandy but showed a few dest touches...Byron did pretty well today...tackeld hard...made a number of intercepts...whether Melbourne pick him next week is debatable...

Bizzell played very well...Newton did ok...played a roaming wing type game...kicked a nice goal in the last 1/4....

Chris Johnson played ok as well....nothing spectacular but got quite a few possessions...

Sautner got 6...led and marked well....

Neaves rucked virtually all day..

A good win by Sandy...lots of mistakes by both sides...but it's always good to get a win at a ground where we haven't had all that much success over the years..

GO ZEBRAS

Did I say I did?

I just asked if they played a full game.

Zebraman said he thought Dunn needs another run at Sandy.

If Pickett got through the game then I think he will be selected. I wonder what his attitude will be like.

I dont care about Yze. He's a fringe player now who has not learnt to do the hard things in football.

Thanks Zebraman

How did Petterd and Garland go - if even half good should be tried at MFC in next few weeks.

did SILVIA play?

Sylvia didn't play - he was at the MCG doing a clinic with Rivers, McLean and someone else I couldn't recognise with about 20 kids before the game started. I noticed McLean wasn't actually using his crutches during the clinic, just picked them up to walk (hobble) off the ground.

Well if CJ was dropped last week for not showing enough, then all things being equal Matty Bate needs to join him at Sandy to learn how to find the footy again. Same with Davey (allegedly carrying an injury) I don't know what we do about Jamar. As for Yze, he was better today than he has been, but for me the test wasn't today, it will be what he does over the next three or four weeks.

In the seniors, I saw nothing from any of the Melbourne listed players that made me think they'll have an effect within the next couple of weeks.

As for the Reserves, I really liked the way Hughes attacked the ball. He's still very slight, but I reckon he could be good.

First of all, i have been saying for years that Brad Green is most valuable close to goal. Hopefully someone listens and decides to play him there.

Secondly, I have also been saying that Bate is not fast. His first 15 steps are as slow as a turtle and whenever he is in a contested situation he's like a giraffe on ice always falling over.

Thirdly, I have also said that Godfrey is not as bad as alot of you people say he is. He goes long almost everytime and goes harder than anyone at the club. his kicking is fine.

Now i'm not too sure whether this concept is too difficult for some of u to understand but when yu have the ball and you are not 100% who or where to kick it...KICK IT FRICKEN LONG! That way, if u dont hit the target..the footy is still 60metres down the ground. Jeff White did it yesterday which resulted in a goal to prismall and Daniel Bell is a common offender.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
