Since when have geelong been OUR BIGGEST RIVALS? Surely Collingwood,

well we are the two oldest footy clubs so at least we have some history. but the reason we dont play collingwood is because a) it wouldnt get enough people to the game and B) we play them on q's bday.

I think all the other rivalries were taken, so we got stuck with Geelong.

Although, our recent history makes for some rivalry.

Our 1 point victory over them in 2005, then they smashed us in the final, plus the draw last year.

yeh collingwood have about 4 teams that claim the rivalry, carlton mainly 79,81, 82, but that doesnt come close to us, richmond probably history wise are carltons main rivals. but geelong?

i like it simply cos my best mate is geelong so its always been there for me

but the last few years have been some good matches between the 2 sides and i hope this can become a big rivalry, but for that to develop we need to play finals against each other and both be quite succesful in the same era

When they brought in the whole "rivalry round" concept they exlained that some were your traditional rivals, but some will be rivalry's in the future.

Surely if it was truely rivalry round you would have Collingwood v Carlton
