Mission completed.  Job well done.  Thankyou.

Not sure nev jetta would have been the best fit.  I think he needed to go to another club like Yze did and come back triumphant.

But why the pies......

The whole Pies thing is a grand ruse Jontee.

Nev: I love this club, and you have been so good to me. How can I help us win two in a row?

Goody: I have a project, but it's tough - not for everyone. But I think you're the man.

Nev: Shoot.

Goody: Go over to the Filth for 12 months. I want you to document in a dossier everything you hear, see and touch.

Nev: Okay, but why?

Goody: Then bring it back here at the end of 2022 when you take up the newly created position at the Demons of Adipati El Supremo Generalissimo of Football and Everything else.

Nev: I see. Sounds good Coach. But what's with the dossier?

Goody: Oh, yes, that. I will study it deeply. That way I'll know what Colinwood are up to and do everything the opposite here, and begin our run to the three-peat in 2023.

Nev: You're a genius. This is going to be better fun than standing Dane Swan in 2014 and taking him apart. Thanks Goody.

This will cause a major re-ranking among the table tennis players at the club.

I'm with those who, sentimentally, would like to see Jonesie in the role. Imagine the reception when he runs onto the ground as runner in a final.

Goody: Thanks Nev. Come in, Shannon. Take a seat. I have a project, but it's tough - not for everyone. But I think you're the man.

Some inside info Daisycutter?

no, more a question of an option nobody had mentioned

It's not necessarily a bad thing for a club to have a small amount of churn amongst its off-field employees. As long as those who replace those who leave have something valuable to offer. It can freshen up the place by bring new ideas and new personalities into the group.

I'll leave the start-up I work for the very second it's sold (i.e. achieves its goal). Bank the success, move on to a new challenge and relieve the professional boredom. Byrnes has been at the club for an eternity in AFL terms.

It will be interesting to see who replaces Shannon Byrnes.

Will it be Nathan Jones? That would be the ideal scenario.

Or perhaps someone highly regarded from another AFL Club?

Best of luck to Shannon and family, but I do hope Geelong never make finals again in my lifetime.

May you live 100 more years

Thanks Shannon. If anyone deserves a new challenge it's you, love how he stuck around for so long after his playing career I'm sure his heart is in both places.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
