i dont know what is with you melbourne supporters... you seem to spend a whole lot of time trying to find someone to blame everytime something bad happens..

right now the demons biggest problem is us.. us people who are happy to rejoice when we win, but only happy to throw criticism when we lose.

stop being so bloody negative, grow up and get behind your team.... they cant do it without you!!!

and if all else fails, you can have my mantra from last year (im a bombers supporter).... the only way we can go is up!

keep the faith people

No..the problem right now is a team that plays like a bunch of hacks ..i.e 'not-a-team' !!

well actually they do...you see we dont take to the ground.. they do..its ALL up to them!!

Ahh it must be fun being you ash! :P

Life isn't all sunshine and lollipops unfortunately and the same goes with footy. If people put in their hard earned for a membership and their team underperforms, I think they have the right to vent their frustration...

To be honest, with Neitz, Robbo, McLean, Pickett, Bartram and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others all out and injured, supposed superstars Trav and Davey (and Yze for that matter) in terrible form and a coach that for whatever reason refuses to employ a game plan that actually won us games last year, I'm not so sure that anything to do with us supporters is Melbourne's 'biggest problem.'

Also, I would have thought that rejoicing with a win and getting frusturated with a loss was a perfectly natural reaction?

And we're not at all happy when we 'throw criticism' - we're generally pretty p-ssed off! It's just so frusturating when you know how capable your side is but yet at the moment they are almost performing like that side that exists every season; that side that all the other teams see as a guaranteed win. I would usually go into a Geelong game feeling pretty good, pretty confident but this week, I'm a bit scared to say the least.

I sat there today amongst some Hawthorn supporters (who really were very sore winners <_< ) and considered that either we will step up in the next few games and shrug off these first two games as total rubbish and not even a snicker of a showcase of how much of a strong, talented side we really are OR perhaps this won't be our year at all. Yes, it's early in the season but how can one not be discouraged by what we're seeing (as in the gameplan), who's out injured, etc etc?

It might not sound like it (!) but I still am 'keeping the faith', as you say and I'm just very anxious, as are we all, to see what the next few rounds will bring.

But anyhow, I suspect things look a bit different all the way from the top of the ladder, hey Ash ;)

lol.. i dont think we'll be there come round 22... this is just the beginning of a long season, and a lot can change in 20 weeks. i wasn't meaning any of what i said as a massive criticism, and i understand that when you're team loses you need to vent, but i honestly think yesterday was a positive (injuries aside). compared to round 1 when the team just laid down and let the saints run away with it, we saw some fight from our second teir players which is fantastic!

i just thought that some positivety around here wouldn't kill anyone. :)

I dunno Ash. What the team needs is respect in order to facilitate confidence. Not unconditional love. Respect, like trust, is earned... and even the demon players would probably agree they've not earned our respect. We'll win games this year, of course we will. But to what end is the frustrating thing...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
