Winning ? is what people want to see MFC. Set high Standards every year.ย
ย

Certain Clubs are โ€œup thereโ€ every seasonย

We must aspire to be one of them

What a fantastic achievement in a covid affected year astonishing really well done to everyone involved with the MFC.?????????????

ย

Congratulations to us all.

We love the Melbourne Footy Club, the mighty Demons. ย

28 years as a member now and my heart has somehow survivedย all the scars along the way.ย

Amazing effort in Covid ravaged year however success on the field is always ย the catalyst for membership no's.

Hopefully the 12,000 new members this season are half new and halfย ย resigning from previous years.

If so it gives confidence for the future to reach day 60,000 next season with hopefully A big new Cup ย and Flag to add to our dozen already coveted.ย

Congratulations to every member who has helped the Club achieve this ground breaking target.

Bloody stoked to read this. The club fully deserves it.

I am going to be a bit self indulgent here, but I mean every word I write.

This year has really helped me fall back in love with AFL footy (despite it's unorthodox nature thanks toย COVID).

I remember having someone on this board saying to me in 2012 that I shouldn't take on board the criticism directed at us in the wake of the tanking imbroglio because 'they' just wanted to bring us down now we'd 'gotten our act together'.ย

It goes without saying how far off the mark that comment was. It truly is absolutely amazing to be on board a club that is progressive, organized, innovative and, above all else, winning. Notice that I didn't use the word 'successful'. That's because we aren't... yet.ย

It's been 3 years since I have actively looked at the draw weeks in advance, and especially after every game. It's also been three years since I've purchased Demon merchandise (albeit an indigenous guernsey through the AFL store). I'm also delighted that I renewed my membership to make me a member 11 out of the last 12 years.ย

Thank you MFC from the bottom of my heart.

Fantastic result! An amazing effort from all of our supporters in yet another year where most of our memberships have been heavily under used thanks to Covid.

This has been my most enjoyable year as a demons member. 2018 was enjoyable but very up and down (biggest downer being the debacle at optus). We've been reliable and consistent. We've never been reliable and consistent before.ย

Let's hope we can top it off ย with a flag but even if we don't this year has been a huge step forward for the club

The only downside of this season is the never ending anxiety that we wonโ€™t be able to watch our team play finals at the MCG. That really would be an absolute heartbreaker for our members who have waited an entire lifetime!

well done but we're still around 10th on the membership lists and around 7th of the ten Melbourne based clubs.

It will be a hard task to climb the ladder.

Looking at the numbers from Big Footy

We should easily stay in front of the Saints next year and probably the Dogs who are 5k behind us. The teams within striking distance are Geelong, Hawthorn and to a lesser extent Essendon. Carlton's figure strike me as rubbery so they could be within range.

North have 45k members which is more than we had in 2020.

It is all about getting the young kids to put on the Jumper.ย
this year is the only time in 34 years i have seen 3-5yoโ€™s wearing Demon gear in my local shopping strip

It is a beautiful thing. They are the futureย

I'd love to see the break down of 3 game memberships and pet memberships throughout every clubs membership numbers.ย

I reckon theย true numbers would stack up against the Hawthorns, Carltons and Essendons of this world.

Hawks are renowned for their pet turtle memberships.

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?
