Thats a nice times bye for the boys.

3 bye’s in a row! That’s a great fixture!

So this is what it’s like being an AFL love child club

Rnd 11.  Friday night match

Rnd 12. Friday night match

Rnd 13. Monday QB holiday match

Rnd 14. Bye

Rnd 15. Saturday night match

All matches on free to air, no Sunday games = More eyeballs watching us. For once we are actually giving our sponsors good value.

I feel like I'm in an alternate universe

So by Round 15 we'll have had 10 FTA games and only 4 Foxtel games.

If I have a complaint, it's that only two of those 10 FTA games will have been Friday nights (and zero Thursday nights), only one of which was a home game and it will have been in Alice Springs.

By comparison, to the same point of the year St Kilda will have had one Thursday night game and two Friday night games, and two of those as home games at Marvel.

It's a very minor complaint TBH, given where we've come from. Plus further opportunities to come (albeit again mainly away games):

  1. Round 15 away to Essendon - they're playing on Sunday the previous week so would have to get them on a 5-day break to get a Friday night
  2. Round 16 home to GWS - not much competition that week for prime time (Geelong v Essendon?) so might get a Saturday night at best?
  3. Round 17 away to Port - has to be a good chance for a Friday night, or Thursday night if they're still happening that late in the season
  4. Round 18 home to Hawthorn - nope
  5. Round 19 away to GC - nope
  6. Round 20 home to the Dogs - another good chance
  7. Round 21 away to West Coast - possibly, but Perth games are so often on Sundays
  8. Round 22 home to Adelaide - nope
  9. Round 23 away to Geelong - will depend on ladder positioning going into that round.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
