Training the House Down

Featured Replies

Kozzie focusing on his snaps at goal. If he can steady and slot those chances rather than snatching at them he'll have taken a huge step in his development and effectiveness.

So Jordon is training as in inside mid..  I saw some posters have him in their Round 1 team, where would he fit?  We couldn't even fit Harmes on the midfield last season

I'm really interested in how Rosman is tracking. As I understood it, he was drafted as something of a  developmental project and was likely to spend the year at Casey.

Training reports suggest he is well beyond this.

Is he a likely senior selection sooner rather than later?

"Training the house down" or has it just been washed away by flood waters? (For those not in Melbourne, it's absolutely soaking here today.)

I genuinely hope we are training outdoors today. We have been really poor at wet weather footy and today would be a great day to work on wet weather game strategy and skills.

When I was at training a fortnight ago the rain started at about 10 and I left as it was very heavy like today.  Not sure how long th rain lasted at Casey but from club reports they kept training which was a good sign.  Like you i hope they stick at it today.

Bit of a nothing article, really.

A bit like this posts.

I've thought our midfield ball use and backline structural soundness have been as big an issue but for those who think the forward line has been the main culprit the last two years the positive is we've now got options.

Tommy Mc is giving it his all. Jackson coming on. Ben Brown on the list. Spargo's had a good preseason from what I've read, Chandler doing well, Pickett going strongly and Laurie coming in. I'd love a bit more established all round talent but that competition for spots should be better than we've had in a long time.

The wing is likely in a similar situation. Probably even more doubt over the established talent but at least if we've got Melksham, Baker, Nietschke, Rosman, Vanders all fighting for a spot the competition should push them all along.

We might only go with 4 inside mids, but if we go with 5 and rotate them either a little forward or through the 3rd wing spot then I'd say the current order for spots is probably something like:

Petracca, Oliver, Viney, Harmes, Jordon with Sparrow 6th and Brayshaw still rehabbing.

Harmes might not be a walk up start. And whilst I think Viney's actually got to the stage where a few people on here are very much underrating him if he doesn't play to the instructions Yze sets out he might have to go backwards to go forwards too.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
