Jones Smells New Beginning

Will be interesting to see what happens next year. With the supposed decrease in playing lists, do you keep a 32-33 yr old Jones over a young bloke? I'm not so sure

From broken to smelling the roses. Awesome, I hope he makes it to the games record for us and hope above all hope gets to lift the premiership cup before he’s done.

I’m saying that, do you keep a proven 300 gamer over. Young kid who may not even get a game?

I reckon on field experience will be even more important with reductions in coaching ranks. With reductions in runners, there is a reason why teams like West Coast, Collingwood and Richmond win games and how Geelong and Hawthorn have been able to keep in touch of finals despite ageing lists.

I reckon post 2021 we might see the draft age increase to help in reducing list sizes through natural attrition. In my opinion this is the ideal time to increase draft age.

If he can bring his JLT form playing as a half forward against Adelaide to the season, I still think he has a lot to offer.

Really looking forward to what a revitalized Nathan Jones could do this year and beyond.  With players like Trac now looking like they are ready to step up and help carry the midfeild, along with an unhindered Jack Viney, Jones having more of a free reign in the forward line, with perhaps the occational injection into the midfeild could really help our team ballance.  Jones could also help add that hard physical presence into our forward line in much the same way as AVB.

I definitely think Nathan Jones can play another 2 or 3 seasons. Definitely this shortened season and next season.

It will be wonderful if Nathan Jones can break the most amount of games played for the MFC which is currently held by David Neitz with 306 games.

Nathan Jones could be very handy playing on the Half-Forward Flank and occasionally thrown back into the midfield. He certainly needs to focus on his delivery inside 50 and goal kicking this year when season 2020 re-starts.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
