“It was disappointing for him obviously, because he had a really good pre-season and had a few training sessions where he was playing in multiple positions and racked up a lot of possessions in some drills. Obviously he had the knee operation so it was disappointing he didn’t get to play any footy, but the amount of info you learn about yourself while going through rehab is incredible. From resilience, to training on your own, to mental toughness, to learning how to build relationships off field – that was huge for him. He went to a lot of games, coded a lot of footy – learnt how to break down a game. He can play multiple positions so when he is back and is available, I think he’ll be on track for a really good season.” - Matt Egan MFC Head of Player Development

No one can construct for you the bridge upon which precisely you must cross the stream of life, no one but you yourself alone.

That bridge can often fall down through no fault of your own doing.

I think in the depths of rehab one would be better recalling that when you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you. :)

Getting away from the deep philosophy of life, can someone in the know suggest where he may fit in to our lineup?

Sounds like he’s either the bridge between our backline and forward line, or he’s going to fill the hole in defence.

Thanks.  So maybe another quick clean outside link like Langdon, and Tomlinson (though I accept that some here say the latter isn’t a quick link).

His more famous historical namesake must have been a Demon supporter.
As well as his better known “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger” Freddie also noted “To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.”

Lets hope he did not learn how to break down a game from Egan,

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
