I don't want the series to stay alive so my care factor for us winning this match is through the roof!

To be honest If we don't win this test match I will be filthy.  The cat,  walls & tv aren't safe!

Well we are favourites again now.....

So often 1 wicket brings another wicket ... and the bookies know all that of course.

Lyon will probably stay on at one end you'd reckon.

Run out!

Yep Stokes call and he called yes after hitting it straight to a fielder.....big mistake.

I liked the ABC Live Blog description of the run out. "BUTTLER'S RUN OUT!!!! Stokes absolutely barbecued him!!!!!"

The replay is not flattering. Hope he feels the guilt.

I really like listening to Warne, he reads the game so well. Often he predicts the strategy, fielding positions, tactics and often knows what happening before the players do. Its also great to hear Micheal Holding really takes you back.

Just get stokes out.

Mmmmmm....and que the one day match

Clever catch by Head. Knew exactly what to do there. Well done. Archer was getting annoying hitting those fours.

One to go. Stokes has a haunted look on his face. Did he just let the Ashes slip through his fingers?

I think he ran them out.

Dont think ive ever seen a game like this one.

I think I spoke too soon. Stokes is playing like a man possessed.

Not sure i would bring Lyon on here....but what do you do?

Cheating umpire. That was obviously out.

B grade umpires adjudicating the Ashes. What a disgrace.

Can't watch it

Now we'll have to put up with bloody gloating Poms

That was the most incredible innings and incredible game. Speechless.

1-1 2 tests to go. Bring it on.

That was the greatest choke ever.

How do you lose from that position?  Why review an LBW when the ball is a foot outside off?

Cummins & Paine panicked.  And Lyon?  Massive Epic fail

Credit to England and Stokes was sensational. But we gave it to them.

Stokes bullied us and we had no answers.  Paine's field placings were all over the place.

A long road back from this loss.

Yes but Pain threw the review away, that was crazy. It was miles outside the leg stump. You may as well say well we dont want that review. I just cant understand it.

Seriously professional umpire should be able to see the bleeding obvious. Yes we choked, we stuffed up royal, but still,  so did the umpire as that was just plum even on the tv. Just awful all round.

Yep, stupid stupid thing to do. Gave his resolve away.

Stokes was incredible and determined. Had the luck and the crowd on his side. Leach had no clue, but tried hard as he could. Lyon could have run him out but took his eye off the ball. We definitely lost it.

Greatest successful run chase in the history of the game.

It's bad enough watching our football team continually choke in front of goal and now the cricket team follow suit.  Lose from an unloseable position.

We won't recover from this ... Archer will tear us a new one.  3-1 to the Poms.

70+ for the last wicket.  We bowled poorly and we bowled pies.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
