I'm going againĀ thisĀ Saturday. I've had 2 unsuccessful visits so far. I saw Roos's lastĀ game as coach and the game after that at the kitty litter.Ā Haven't gone since then.

However, I'm feeling bullish and confident that this will beĀ 3rd time lucky.

With that in mind I ask: which pubĀ or venue afterĀ a long awaited glorious Melbourne victory at the kitty litter is the venue of choice?

I await your collective advice in anticipation of a glorious celebration...Ā

Gold Diggers Newtown, The Cremorne Newtown, The Valley inn South Geelong.Ā

A few of us from M9 will be at the Barwon Club. About the closest pub to the ground.

2 wins in 29 years ain't a good record. I live 20km from the joint, but rarely go (especially after witnessing 186). 50/50 at this stage.

Come down the coast either to the Collendina in Ocean Grove or the Barwon Heads Hotel (recently refurbished) far nice accomodation and atmosphere than what you'd get in G-Town itself.Ā

Ā

Moderately worried about this game... by how far will be the margin?Ā

Thanks for your collective suggestions on Geelong Pubs in which to celebrate aĀ Demon victory. Much appreciated. So far we have:

IN GEELONG: Gold Diggers Newtown, The Cremorne Newtown, The Valley inn South Geelong and The Barwon.

IN OCEAN GROVE: Collendina Hotel or Barwon Heads Hotel.

Any further input to help confirmĀ a decision?

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fieryĀ interaction between Max Gawn and Steven MayĀ at the end of the gameĀ was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
