Hogan is also contracted, its a trade so it would be irrelevant

He signed last week. He won’t be involved in a trade.

Why not? Not saying he will be. But 100% as eligible for a trade as any other fremantle player. Also young and from melbourne, so im sure he wouldn't object.

When under contract, both club AND player must agree to a trade.  How can you not understand this?

When did i ever say he would traded if he or the club objected? Fremantle would probably be happy to involve cerra in a trade for hogan and cerra would probably be happy to return to melbourne and play for a club in the 8. What don't you get about that?

The fact that the previous sentence is fabricated bullsh!t based upon the contract extension both he and Freo willingly signed in good faith about a week ago. Logic isn't your strength mate.

So you are saying because a player has signed a contract, in no circumstances can that player end up at another club via a trade?

Clearly Fremantle have no intention on utilising Cerra in a trade, they re-signed him last week. Surely this isn’t that hard to understand. If they were looking at making a play for Hogan they’d already have an idea who what and/or whom they are willing to trade for him. Cerra isn’t one of those players, clearly.

A rubbish hypothetical.

This thread is about a Jesse Hogan trade, why did you think i mentioned Cerra's name? For a trade with Thomas Bugg? Seriously, you have no idea if you think Freo wouldn't be willing to give up a 19y.o from melbourne and more for Hogan.

Club and player want to stay together until 2021. Just signed an extention which 99.999999999999% of people would agree means both parties are set. It's not like Hogan, who falls out of contract in 13 months.

What don't you get about that?

Your left nut will be divorcing you very soon.

I can only assume you are coming from the brave new world where contracts no matter how recently signed are not relevant legally, and that even though clubs fabric are built on meaningful relationships, that doesn't matter to this millenial generation?

Are you from the future?

Mate, obviously freo want to keep Cerra, and they have convinced him to stay. But just because they want him, doesn't mean they wouldn't trade him for the right deal. And Cerra is clearly happy at Freo, but that doesn't he would love to play in melbourne with his friends and family for a top 8 side. I repeat Cerra is ELIGIBLE to be traded like every AFL player.

See Mitch Mcgovern in an Adelaide uniform next year? He signed this year. Didnt Schache sign with the lions last year?  I don't make the rules but contracts are not in concrete

Perhaps I should have bolded the meaningful relationship component...

By all accounts - McGovern felt aggreived that he took a paycut and Gibbs came in...

Schache wanted to be in Melbs...

Anyway, lovely hypothetical... and if anything happens this year, I'll buy a collingwood membership for 2019...

1 gun, 1 up and comer and a 1st rd pick. Hogan is good but he is not Chris Judd

Well that is good news: heard that Hogan is a nice guy who doesn’t eye gouge or chicken wing.

Wouldn’t trade him unless he indicated he intended on leaving.

this kid is a special talent and you don’t just let them walk out the door.

If zones are introduced having three key forwards of that quality might become a huge advantage

I am sure you are high up in Jesse's thoughts...

Do you ever worry about running out of that incredible wisdom of yours?

Too many dreamers thinking Cerra is trade material. Like us trading Viney or Oliver after their first season.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
