From all reports, Cory Machaya put on a show for Casey in todays massive finals win vs Geelong....  three goals and plenty of highlights, including a bicycle kick soccer goal.   He is 21 years old, 178 cms, 69 kilos.

I happened to make the Bayley Fritsch thread last year so maybe things will work out just as well this time too. Wouldn't that be nice.

Played a gun of a game today. Recruit him.

Good footballer. Highly skilled, quick. But very small. Not sure he has the tricks that a player of his heights needs for AFL level.

Only issues would be his height and ability to cover the ground.Otherwise he looks good.

Haven't heard a lot about him this season...

Was today a huge surprise or is it something that he's been showing/building towards through the year?

Pardon my ignorance, but i can't recall ever hearing about this lad before. Great to see he's capable of a few tricks!

However, if anyone was from the Casey Scorpions was going to get drafted to the Demons, Bayley Fritsch style, I hope it's either Lockhart or Corey Wagner.

Machaya is a great VFL player, but I don't know if he is AFL level. I rate Jay Lockhart over him for sure.

We owe you a lot. Thanks

From what I've seen he's quite lethal with his skills and had a blinder on Saturday. Not 100% sure if he'll get drafted, don't know how he would stand up to the rigours of AFL footy but could be looked at.

Definitely think that C. Wagner and Lockhart have better chances of being drafted.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
