It is a concern. One that I think Goodwin will be ultimately judged on. But it may be the reality of modern AFL. Pick a design you think can give you an advantage over the pack, recruit to suit, and back it in to the hilt. Nowhere teams like Richmond and Collingwood haven't been doing this. Some of the bottom teams have been left behind with old styles.

The good news is that Goodwin seems to be ahead or aroundabouts the curve rather than trying to follow aspects of old premiership models two years after the fact like we've done in the past. Even better news, they chose a model with both grunt and flair - who would've thought we'd be saying that after signing up Roos - we just have to learn how to drive it at full speed and how not to crash.

Important good and potentially good players out at present: Gawn, Vandenberg, Brayshaw, Spencer, Melksham, Joel Smith, Tim Smith. Doubtful if Vandenberg will play again this year, with a fractured calcaneum. Garland is now a list clogger, in my view.

There has to be flexibility even within one style/model etc. Be like the tree, not a post

I realise Goody either hasnt the players he ideally seeks ( in the entirety ) or some he has are injured.  I also see a preparedness to alter in a game. With this also needs the ability to alter 'before' the game .
