Rules, Rules and more Rules.

I’ll tip a roughie later.

Now that's a good idea ... there's always a lot of value about on an each-way basis.

And the value at the Valley can be the on pace runners who get a cushy run.  I'm also weary of backmarkers who draw an inside alley.

Im happy to go with @Biffen roughie selection every week if he wants to do it that way. It can be in any race, i just wont put it in the multi. Simple.

As for JV7s selection,. i thought we didnt want 2 selections in 1 race?.......again i dont really care, but make up your minds.

It'll figure itself out over time Wadda ... we can just use any of the tips as we see fit.

2 leg doubles is my preference so if we have 5 or more tips then one doesn't have to necessarily use them all.  Even out-out win bets such as 'I am Superman' last week can give a good return.

As an example I have got How Womantic & Surprise Baby in a one-out double from our selections.  Gator likes both of them as well and he's often on the money.

Still worth a coffee on all of them in a big multi but again,  my preference is to pick the eyes out of the selections.  We could use a roughie pick for the place in a multi as well.  That's how I might use that type of tip.

I can see your point about multiple selections in the one race but again,  it'll figure itself out once everyone knows how it all works.

I don't believe we'll have a repeat of the previous double-ups.

Is 'Nature Strip' over the line in the Concorde Stakes? (Race 4 Randwick)  The odds would suggest so but the horse is not always at its best first up.

I've taken out a F4 in the race and I give Dirty Work & Gytrash a show in the race.

And the Chelmsford Stakes (Race 7) is an open race ... Paul Joice has picked 'Angel of Truth' to win (5-1) so that might do me.  At its best Avilius would win this but can it find its best form?  Life Less Ordinary at 20-1 provides some real value in the race.  Spec pick?

My fault I actually didn't read the rules until after I had posted... I'll be going each way on this one personally but for this multi I'll go the place.

Moonee Valley Race 2 #12 Ghodeleine - Place $5

Not sure if anyone is into betting outside the metro meetings but got a strong tip for Hawkesbury Race 7 #5 Gunnamatta @ $3.50 atm

Ok -Thanks for the opportunity to be the roughy tipster.

In search for value I went to Kilmore .Race 8 Number 2-Drain The Swamp. Showing 26-1 fixed TAB.

In the same race I like a boxed Trifecta 1,2,3,13.

A quick scan of the Metro meetings didn't really show much value.

I'll try to pick something over 15-1 each week.

I look froward to the team multi .

Go you good things!!!

Yeah no problem with that at all, cast your net into the sea! You can go to HK or anywhere else also if you spot something. Macca often posts some international meetings and we were all over Ascot earlier this year.

We also have been following Night of Thunder horses, since its now the leading sire in Europe and its progeny do very well and often win at good odds. They are starting to get to Australia and hence my selection in River Night. Cherry Tortoni is one good example. We post them up here from time to time.

Good luck all, we should get some good racing and hopefully some traffic on here today, let’s face it, the footy is a drainer atm so keep posting your whispers.

Best Bet at The Valley
Race 5, No. 3 - Age of Chivalry

Best Value Bet at The Valley
Race 6, No. 6 - Rulership

I also like River Night which has already been mentioned above. Good luck!

Best Bets:

Moonee Valley Race 1 No.3 How Womantic $3.10 (W)

Moonee Valley Race 2  No 12 Ghodeleine  $5.00 (P)

Moonee Valley Race 4 No.6 Junipal $2.45 (W)

Moonee Valley Race 5 No 3 Age of Chivalry $2.80 (W)

Moonee Valley Race 7 No.2 River Night $6.00 (W)

Moonee Valley Race 8 No.4 Surprise Baby $3.00 (W)

Multi of the above 1580/1 (approx)

Some excellent selections there from some very astute observers.

Good luck team !

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
