A bit harsh...and a short memory.

We had the same problem last year when we played Freo, Syd and Hawkes consecutively in the early part of the season.  We were absolutely thrashed. It destroyed our season momentum, our membership drive, fan motivation and team morale.

I agree with Brown, playing too many top teams in the early part of the season can be soul destroying for a struggling club.  At least for us this year, the top team games have been stretched out a bit.

Brown is spot on, its embarassing to think a team on the up can get a [censored] easy run to start the year like WC got last year or like the bulldogs got 7 home games to start this year, but a struggling team like brissy has to deal with the hardest start I've seen in a long time. They started well all things considered but it was always going to be a tough run, I said at the start of the year they could have been 0-8 and playing well!! 

On the topic of fixture oddities have look at GWS's run home they won't lose again till finals! And people still seem to think that they dont get handouts!

I am surprised that you think it is not fair.

As long it is a draw devised by the AFL to suit the TV it will always be so.

The AFL takes the maximum amount of money they can screw.

The trade off is the TV gets what it wants.

There is one fact that as MFC supporters we all know if you have a crap team you have a crap time.

They have been thrashed by teams 16, 14, 11, 10 & 9 in recent rounds.

They did have hard early rounds and a had good game against the Swans; but they have not been competitive at all against teams not in the 8. I understand you point, but they were competitive early against the better sides.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     DRUBBING by Meggs

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
