Jack Watts has become our key play maker. His decisions and delivery are just magnificent.

With so much inexperience in the side, someone with watts poise and disposal is so important. never will be the contested beast but we dont need that from him. Clearly a better player when we are winning the contested ball which this year we have been. 

I have little doubt the club will secure his services but gee his link up play across half forward is vital for the team going fwd. possible the best set shot in the league, and rarely stuffs up a possession. 

Hogan is important obviously but dont underestimate watts future contribution to the clubs chances.

    I would love to see Jesse Hogan do extra goal kicking sessions with Jack Watts, if Jesse could convert with the same efficiency as Wattsy he would be the best forward in the comp.

    T. McDonald, Jetta, and Trengove (yes Trengove) are more important.

    McDonald's and Jetta's ability to shut down players is essential. If the club is able to acquire a second tall and ready to go defender (like Hurley) Tom's game should go to another level. Without either the team would have immense trouble controlling opposition forwards of both tall and small.  

     

    Trengove:

    With the way the game is going, it's suggested that there will be a smaller interchange cap which will tire players quicker and slow down games.

    Trengove has stated in a recent interview that he likes this concept as it's more suited to his style (he's an endurance machine).

    Early in his career his talent and potential were incredibly exciting, I considered him more exiting than I do now for Brayshaw, but after suffering an injury and forcefully playing through it he began to slow (literally), stop developing, and almost have his career cut short.

    Now that he's on the mends I think he still has plenty to offer, and could possibly thrive with the interchange cap. 

    His upside vastly outweighs his current market value and subsequent trade options.

     

    As for Watts, he does have a lovely kick for goal and does find himself in good position up forward, I just wish he crashed the contest a little more. Without a doubt I would like to see him re-signed it just depends on the price he's asking.

    i wouldn't say jetta plays tall, that's stretching it. maybe he plays taller than he looks but not to the extent he can play on a tall (189+cm)

      Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

    • NON-MFC: Round 09

      Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos.
