We weren't slow when we were playing well vs GWS or in the NAB Challenge.

IMO the issue isn't speed, the issue is whether or not we're "on". St Kilda have come into this game with the right mentality (they kicked 5 goals in the entirety of last week's match, they came out harder today and put 6 on the board in the first quarter).

You're wasting your breath/fingers, one of these days it is going to sink into supporters that most of the game is played between the ears

Geez Adelaide are good. Walsh, Camporeale, Pyke. Doesn't matter who coaches them. That team can learn a new game plan in the matter of months whereas we take years to adapt :s

You better tell that to the players next time you're  hanging out with them. The penny hasn't dropped for them either. They might listen to you.

What game plan.....the game is easy.....you have to go from one end to the other, you either kick it using the corridor, kick it using the wings, gun and run using handballs or try to turn it over through pressure, depends which one the coach of the day favours, the players know them all............. the above should cover Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Sydney and a couple of others

I could easily be accused of being the pot calling the kettle black, but Richmond's ball handling and execution under pressure is just appalling.

I do tell the players, the issue we have is getting all 22 on the same page, on the same ground, in the same game, at the same time.....when we do, a la parts of the NAB cup and the last quarter against GWS   we are a good side

The Pyke game plan   or poor skills from Richmond

Touchy arent we?

Its a forum, you know, for discussion?

I'll be sure to run by any topics I may want to discuss with you in the future. Or you could ignore it and move on. Either or.

You contributed absolutely nothing to the topic apart from a whinge, what discussion?, we all fall at your feet and agree?

Don't waste your time, he cuts and pastes that post in every thread.  If you've got a problem with the club, how we play etc. then he wants you to stop posting because, you know, how dare you take a negative view of the football we served up last week.

No chap only with posters who spout and can't back up, ring any bells with you?

The post added nothing whatsoever to the topic apart from a general whinge about lack of speed, every supporter knows the only lack of speed we suffer from during games is between the ears

Not wanting to blow my own trumpet, but when the fixture came out last year, there was a discussion on here about some of the games including last week. I recall being one of those who was most worried about last week's game.

I know I should get over it and I will eventually will, but what the hell did the football department do about preparing for this game?

What the hell did the coaches do in reaction to what was unfolding?

What did the leaders do?

Why were the players so apparently apathetic?

Don't forget: complains about people derailing his training threads while obnoxiously doing the very same thing here. It's a thread about the state of the league, people are entitled to discuss it as they please.

Back up what Saty?  Gee you talk utter tripe.  He is more than entitled to be disappointed, angry, frustrated etc. with our performance last week, and he is well within his rights to post it on a forum.  It was relevant as he referenced how a side was playing today, which goes in the around the grounds thread.  Maybe if you don't like it then you shouldn't reply and let it go through to the keeper.

And the lack of speed we suffer isn't between the ears, it's on the legs they run around with.

So how come you're entitled to your opinion, but he isn't entitled to his?

Collingwood players down by 32 points in the last but jogging around the ground, completely uncompetitive.

What the hell has happened to this team? They aren't bothering with their usual end-of-season fadeout this year, they aren't showing up in the first place!

Saints looking fantastic though, there's such a fire in the belly of their youngsters and their senior players really do lead by example. Tackling pressure has been immense, and they nail those inside 50's with scoreboard pressure. We would do well to learn from this unit.

Not to mention that the Saints have played the entire second half with Riewoldt and McCartin.  They have just wanted it more and run harder to each contest.  The Pies look as though they've gotten well ahead of themselves.

He is, you commented on mine, I commented on his, I commented on yours,  your comprehension skills seriously need work, bit like Collingwood's effort at the moment, one team turns up the other doesn't......end result........it's a simple game footy, if only supporters listened to what Roos says......now if Collingwood manage to lift and overrun St Kilda who have exhausted themselves playing like that for 3 quarters....what will it be....... good coaching?

Geez, because there's just so much positivity to discuss after our stunning upset defeat last week, isn't there?

It's a discussion forum where people can express themselves however they like. If you don't like it, leave!

You told him he should stop posting if he didn't like it.  That's the very definition of telling someone that they aren't entitled to their opinion because you believe he is whinging.  What he posted was his opinion and, last time I checked, it's not your job to tell him that he shouldn't post because of it.

You're the very definition of a hypocritical poster.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
