Former players kicking goals in business

Featured Replies

On the back of Craig Ellis making a killing in the bikini business, there's an article in today's Age (page 22) about a start-up company created by Joel MacDonald, James Strauss and Rohan Bail doing pretty well:

if you can access the paper on-line.

I work for a former Dee and there's a pretty good network of MFC business people. Neita and Hoppy are another couple to keep an eye out for in the near future.

One of the things we all love about footy is having mates for life, so it's great when you see some MFC names listed together post-playing days.

I'm not sure how many DL'ers were able to access the article, but it sounds like the guys could soon be making some serious coin. Here's an extract:

"... Swift has signed a "multimillion-dollar deal" with the online grocery delivery company, MacDonald said, though he could not disclose exact figures.

In a few short months Swift has clocked up paid and free trial sign-ups in "around 70 different regions around the world".

"[We've got] people doing dry cleaning on-demand in Dubai; marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles; flower delivery companies in South Africa; and we're dealing with a whole heap of transport companies in India, so every day is pretty exciting," MacDonald said. ..."

Glen Lovett is very high up .

That's you and me old mate.

I would love to see that by being a player for the MFC, a young man can literally 'set himself up for life' by virtue of the incredible network of contacts that the Club provides.

It can only help attract/retain quality talent that otherwise would be seduced by the tawdry blandishments of pretentious prats like "Eddie Everywhere" who continues to insist that the Lexus Centre is in fact the centre of the known universe.

Alistair Nicholson CEO of the Australian Cricketers' Association. Where does THAT come from?
