Callum Sinclair

It has been reported a few times that Sydney Swans are going after Callum Sinclair (and Zac Smith).

He is a good forward and a good ruck with a huge tank, great hands and good skills.

He is a Victorian (dad played for Saints and Fitzroy).

I think he would compliment Hogan and Gawn perfectly and he would not cost the earth. If he is willing to move to Sydney for some money, he might be keen to move to Melbourne too.

He looked useless in the Grand Final, no thanks.

In fairness, so did Josh Kennedy and Marc Lecras. Sinclair was great all year.

Sinclair is contracted and has stated he has no intention of leaving.

Next.

Thats not true Swans into him big time he's got 10 lengths on Spencer

That doesn't change a thing. As I said he is contracted and stated himself he has no interest in leaving. End of story.

I love to get hold of him I heard Swans want to swap Jetta for Callum as we know it's NOT end of story to trade weeks over, we desperatly need another ruckman especially with Gawns injurys, let's hope this story ends well for us, ps nice thread I really rate Sinclair.

How can one person have so many connections? I'm jealous.

He lives in WA, there are only about 1000 people there and about 500 of those are associated either Freo or WCE.

Won't happen, Sydney will likely go after Lycett instead and WCE will need to keep Sinclair.

I rate Sinclair - had an excellent year.

If he was to move I think it would be to a club where he could play as Number 1 Ruck. Same for Scott Lycett.

Interesting to see how he goes as a first choice ruck at Sydney. He's done ok as second choice, but it will define him with more game time in the middle.

He took my interest when he was at Port Melbourne and I wondered if he'd be a valuable pick up for us a few years ago as a late pick/rookie. He's certainly developed well since then and I watch with interest his progress in Sydney now.

And just tried to be too confident again.

End of story!!

I work with his housemate.

Going nowhere.

I think we missed the best-suited player for one of our needs here...

But we didn't have Lewis Jetta to swap for him!

End of story!

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
