well obviously the point we'll never agree on is that cheating is not cool, even if it's by one of your own players (who has never gone into battle for the red and blue BTW)

you and stuie are apparently cool with it, each to his own

i'm saying i want him gone because he's a cheat

you're saying you want him to say

how much room is there for misinterpretation

again you need to make up your mind about your own opinion

Feel free to link to the post where I said "cheating is cool".

Hypocrite.

Can someone please make clear what the penalty against Melksham means with respect to the following:

  • is he allowed at the club's rooms (eg, gym) when the rest of the team or club officials are not there?
  • is he allowed to see any of the club's officials (eg, physio, dietitian, etc) away from the club rooms?
  • can he maintain fitness by playing in any other football competition other than the AFL or VFL?
  • can he maintain fitness by playing any other non-football competition (eg, basketball) if he's good enough to do so?

PS: And can Stuie, SWYL, C&B etc, take it outside and stop hijacking this thread.

Wrong because i don't want a convicted drug cheat sitting out of the ENTIRE game for a year that we drafted with pick 25 whilst the CAS hearing were in progress?

Dig another hole.

That wasn't the point of the argument. Not sure if you're just that senile that you get confused and forget things really easily or if you just deliberately change your point to suit what you want to try and say at that particular time.

Exactly. A 4 year contract is a pretty clear indicator of that too.

it's not an indicator of a goddam thing

I think it is an indicator that he is a better footballer than you, what was the longest contract offered to you?

tbh I think the fair thing would be to declare it void. Have history still show that Watson won it but then had it taken off and no official winner for that year.

How is that fair to Cotchin and Mitchell? We need to stop making allowances for cheats.

insane.

if you are NOT OK with cheating, how is it that you are OK with Melksham being at the club?

don't you see how those two two things are mutually exclusive?

So that's a no on finding that quote of me saying "cheating is cool" then? Right...

my god. wtf. First of all, I thought most people understand that you don't have to be an AFL footballer yourself in order to comment on AFL footy. Otherwise the whole site should be closed now. Secondly, can you read? Stuie is claiming that a 4-year contract is some sort of 'proof' that Roos and Co knew he was going to get rubbed out. That is obviously complete bullpoo. How does that match your comment? At what stage has anyone questioned Melksham as a player? Seriously you should re-read the posts and apologise, you've completely misfired.

oh and of course stuie likes it. Another poster completely misses the point and he scores it as somebody supporting him. Weak and desperate and typical.

He must not have any association with the football club facilities or their employees / players.

I don't know if he can play amateur sport, but professional sport is a no no.

answer the question

it's very straightforward

you just don't do that when don't have an answer though huh

i cant believe I am doing this again

Haha oh you're so reading my mind "Curry & Beer"....

I actually take a grown up approach to it and say that he did the wrong thing, he's copping his punishment and then I look forward to him coming back and contributing to the MFC.

You can keep your temper tantrums, fist shaking and moral superiority to the confines of the playground.

And isn't that just a wonderful position for the MFC to put themselves in

CAS was always going to come down hard...

WYL, it's impossible to say whether or not "this trade is a complete crock" until Melksham's contract with us is up and we see the output of Mason Redman over the course of his career.

If Redman gets delisted after two seasons and Melksham comes back to be a consistent member of our best 22, then it will be a clear win for us.

I understand how you feel about the Essendon 34, but to say that this trade was bad for the MFC is jumping the gun.

I'd guess that a number of banned players will get together to train and even hire a few support staff (with money coming from unidentifiable sources). I'm sure that will happen for the blokes at EFC and maybe they'll welcome an old mate  Melksam to join them. Those at Port may have to form a smaller group.

No contact for a full year tells me a lot.

Hahahaha this is the best. I love it that your post starts with "my god. WTF" and then has a hissy fit about other people getting "likes" before going for the teenage girl insults at the end.

What a drama queen.

Totes amazeballs. #YOLO

Obviously it's not an ideal situation, but we won't be able to tell who won the trade for years.

Coming from a long way back

with no elite facilities or coaches....

I'm not disagreeing with that. All I'm saying is that it's impossible to judge at the moment.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
