One post and already you make sense! I think that the four players you suggest are better suggestions than the three de listings suggested in post # 506

What a shame the only two players listed that weren't in post #506 are contracted for 2016.

What about the rookies guys?

vB to be elevated, and maybe White gone?

Reckon they're all developing well.

I'd be tempted to promote Vandenberg & Harmes and keep King & White both on the rookie list for another year.

Why are you moving White on Stuie?

Not developing quickly enough for mine, especially given we already have slow burners in King and Harmes who are way ahead of him.

Personally I'd rather someone a year or two older so we don't get found out so badly for injuries next year.

You could choose to engage and answer the question or not.

So if by some miracle he was on the list as a rookie let's say the pixies did it, would he play this week? I say probably. I am not advocating that we do rookie him.

He might of but then Mission injured him, he'll be right to go in 4 - 6 weeks.

Really? Was injured over pre-season. Has developed nicely. Getting better every week.

What's the contract status with Hunt? Given he has been injured for so long I'd be thinking he is nervous?

Standard 2 year deal that finishes this year. They'll have to make a call on Hunt. White has moved ahead of him as a rebounding half back.

Been to see him play at Casey this year?

Yeah he's certainly in danger. Reckon he may get lucky with a 1 year extension, but don't expect the offer to come until well into trade period I reckon once they know how the list is shaping up.

Delist and re-rookie?

Hi I am the Ultimate Demon and I am a new member. I am a die hard Demons supporter and everyone in my family is!

Here are a few players who I have considered:

- Dean Terlich

- Matt Jones

- Jordie Mc Kenzie

- Rohan Bail

Please post your thoughts! :)

Welcome Ultimate

I wont be as subtle as Song Formerly Known As,

I hope your enthusiasm doesn't fade and you don't let the frustration turn you into a twisted individual as Song suggests.

I acknowledge your thoughts and hope you continue to express them despite any total disregard that will happen.

In fact Song, like most here, is also a fantastic supporter. All dees supporters are, as we have been been treated to the most amazing football journey with so little ultimate reward.

I hope you will appreciate the wealth of experience and knowledge that is displayed in commentary on Dland, and also hope you appreciate the wit and bulltish that is also prevalent, and usually with bullet like speed and rapier sharpness and learn to ignore some of the less than savoury comments.

Well I think that leaves an opening for many so enjoy and GO DEES

Why are you moving White on Stuie?

From Justin Plapp's round 9 player review:

Mitch White: Whitey played really well on the weekend. Some of his 50/50 contests and one-on-one stuff was really strong, particularly in critical contests. He had 15 possessions, one tackle and eight marks. Two or three of those marks were from opposition kicks, where he got himself into really good position and impacted the footy in the air. He was also able to close out his opponent really well. Whitey is growing and improving at a really good rate and he’s a pleasure to coach, because he follows instructions. He’s showing some really strong improvement, so he was one of our better players.

He's been on the rookie list for half a season? You're a tough man Stuie.... if you were head of our list management I'd imagine we would turn over 20 players a season.

:roos:

Lachie Henderson would be a good get, IMO. Flexible, good pair of hands and would compliment Hogan and Pedersen up forward, with the ability to swing back.

I am actually more intrigued by the rookie list situation. The senior list delistings are reasonably obvious, but all the guys on the rookie list have shown enough to warrant more time you would think, so will be interesting to see how they juggle it. Obviously vandenBerg is a shoe in for the senior list.

Well thats what Rookie list are for mate other wise guys like Will Langford wouldn't be the player he is today developing on the rookie list for two years before he got a game.

Definitely think he will be in the mix for us.

I don't see any reason as to why we wouldn't have a good go at picking him up. Fits our needs right now.

But our needs are pretty much everywhere.

If we could add him and someone like Scott Selwood as free agents, plus our first round pick it could go a long way to us making finals next season.

Just my opinion guys.

For mine, I just feel we need a 50/50 balance of young developers and more mature looking for a shot types on the rookie list and I have King and Harmes ahead of White at this stage.

And yes, I have seen him play.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
