Kicking against a strong breeze its tough going for Casey with the Dogs having all the momentum and lead by one goal.

Grimes running through the middle so far today.

Redpath goals to take the bullies lead to 2 goals. Jordan Kelly getting plenty of it for the Dogs. Wind is 3-4 goal wind.

3.2.20 to 0.3.3 - Not going well so far by the sounds of it. Love someone at the ground to tell me but it sounds as if Spencer and Gawn have the upper hand of Minson. Hearing Toumpas a lot - Stretch was amongst it early. But the dogs seem to have the ball a lot.

Quarter Time: 19 point margin to the Bulldogs and considering how bad we've played we are lucky to be in the game. 3.4.22 to 0.3.3

From the radio I cant really say who has been the best because those who have had it have had terrible disposal.

From the commentators: 50/50 ruck duel, Free kicks the way of the Dogs

Plapp: not hard enough at the moment. Stoppages +6. Lower our eyes and look for the hit ups. Grimes / Terlich will play loose defender this quarter. Dont go to ground. Being strong in the contest and hold your feet. 2 hands on the ball. I'd prefer you to give a free kick away then let them mark the footy. Get a little c*&t about you (on live radio). Move quick but not reckless.

Much better start for the quarter. Terlcih run and carry, long kick to Pedo mark inside 50 and goals.

Some disposal issues are holding Toump back at the moment. Getting plenty of it but it needs to be better with the ball use. McKenzie and Bail getting more of it.

Bail ignores a Gawn lead and takes the goal himself.

3.4 to 2.3

Follows with another centre clearance into the forward 50. After some argy bargy in the forward line Kelly (Dogs) hacks it out to a marking Toump. 50m out and it fades left for 3.4 to 2.4.

Much better so far by the Scorps.

Kick out gets knocked out of bounds. 30m from the Casey goal. Pedo snaps for his second and it is now even.

Pedo, Grimes and Toump are putting their hands up. Gawn and Spence are also doing well. An issue that these 2 are having is that by sharing the role (which they are doing wel) they are counteing each others effectivness.

Bullies get one back - 4.4 to 3.4

McKenzie and Toump spending plenty of time in the middle. Havent heard much from Jones (but is that the commentators?). Toump clears from the 50 - to McKenzie and another inside 50 but a bad one (by a Casey mid - not McKenzie). Better defence by us this quarter. And apparently Gawn has lost his beard!!!

If it is Toumpas that they keep calling Toumpas he is being recalled this week. Sounds like 15-20 touches so far.

Brett Goodes now has 7 free kicks. 7! To Redpath and he goals. 5.4 to 3.4 - we are doing well out of the back 50 lead by Toump but we are doing going well inside 50.

8! It is now 8!

Goodes is killing us. Kelly is doing well and we really dont have an answer for Redpath as the mids arent putting enough pressue on the kicks coming in.

21 frees to 7. Sound familiar?

22 to 8 now

Stretch kicks a behind.

What do you think Wayne - do we have any chance? They just seem too quick.

Stretch kicks another behind.

25 -7 free kicks and we are really giving them away. I guess we followed Plapp's instructions

3.8.26 to 6.4. 40. We have the wind this quarter and it is not going well.

Bail contested mark from the kick-in but the quarter ends.

Best for me so far are the usual suspects - Toump, Pedo, Spence, Gawn. Stretch is tagging Goodes now and hopefully quell his impact in the second half.

Pedo has 2, Bail has 1

Toump 15; Spence 12; Grimes 11; Harmes 10; Riley 9

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
