I'd do 2,3 and 23 for Kennedy and Mitchell but don't think they'd trade Mitchell if their best midfield so won't happen

I wouldn't. That's still overs. Mitchell couldn't crack the 1sts.

Yeah in Sydney's midfield. What a hack!

This all seems very fishy. Clarke and Lumumba trades blowing up, no frost deal, contrary to Mahoney chat just a few hours ago.

Could this be a very well played troll?

Maybe not a troll but misinformed I would say.

Who will we take at 2 and 3.

Balmey reckons Lumumba will be signed off tomorrow.

He's worth pick 23 sure. Probably more. I'd give up a top 15 pick for him up to about pick 10.

But he doesn't really contribute to evening the deal by adding him and pick 23 to 2 and 3.

Now if we were giving up 2 and 3 for Kennedy then sure throw in Mitchell and 23 as well. But that's even less likely than getting Kennedy.

The swans give up 1 of their best ball winners. It's unlikely but stranger things have happened. The swans give up another, can't see that.

I didn't say he was a hack. I implied he wasn't worth a top 3 pick on his own and that's what we'd essentially be giving. He's not an A grader, so you'd want a top 10 pick back at least. Sydney can't provide this. No deal, for mine. But each to their own.

Pick 2 and 3 for Kennedy and Frost (from GWS for pick 39) is an absolute win. One superstar and one long term known quantity who is known quality with lots of upside. 2 and 3 are UNKNOWN QUANTITIES!

Deadset, if we can't back ourselves to develop the 2nd and 3rd best talent in the country, we need to toss it in right now. Are we the new Melbourne or not?

Giving up both of those picks for one player who turns 27 next season is madness. Absolute madness.

A deal for Kennedy or just 'a deal'?

Believable, coming from someone with one post.

Well, marketing and web content at Hawthorn knew about (and published an interview with) Frawley before that happened.

Everybody knew that had happened before it happened.

We need more than one middielder for pics 2&3.

It's a crap trade if it's only one player.

I certainly hope it more than one

Steve use your common sense, we aint going to trade Pick 2 & 3 for Kennedy alone

Sydney are that close to a flag, really would you trade out your best midfielder, look at their midfield without Kennedy not really big enough to match it with Freo and Hawks

Balmey who would know has already kiboshed the story of Collingwood making the HL/MC/TV trade messy it's agreed to will be done

...and he was their only mid to put up any resistance in the GF.

Would I take Josh Kennedy over:

2013 - Josh Kelly/Jack Billings? Too early, but probably.

2012 - O'Rourke/Plowman? YES

2011 - Coniglio/Tyson? Probably not.

2010 - Bennell/Day? YES

2009 - Trengove/Martin? Marginal. Probably not. Martin is very good

2008 - Nic Nat/Stephen Hill? YES

2007 - Cotchin/Masten? Probably not, but JPK def has more impact than Cotchin

2006 - Gumbleton/Hansen - YES

2005 - Daisy/Ellis - YES

So, out of the last 9 drafts, 6 out of the 9 are a win, 1 is marginal and 2 are a probably not, but they're close.

I'm pretty comfortable with this trade.
