Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

So far I have heard

Lumumba for Clark

Robinson for Blease

any others?

Are you after realistic ones or absolutely silly ones like Dangerfield, Sloane and Tex Walker for Pick 2, Pick 3 and Jimmy Toumpas?

Not trades but recruits seem to point to:

  • 4th rounder for Frost?
  • 3rd rounder for Billy Stretch?
  • Pick 3 for Shiel/Dangerfield/Cameron/Mitchell??
  • Gwilt as delisted free agent.
  • Malceski for 2nd rounder (sign and trade to prevent diluting free agent compo?)
  • Pick 2 for Petracca?

There are posters on this board who believe the above would be a realistic trade and has the potential to happen.

The challenge is to decipher who is worth listening to and who has no idea what they're talking about. Good luck.

Here is latest 100 page topic

Some interesting reading coming up.......

Rumor from facebook (so you know it's legit) Melbs pick 2 and 3rd rounder for GWS Cameron and Frost.

after realistic trades, but no doubt everyone will have a different opinion of what is realistic

We'll need our third rounder for Stretch, would've thought...

lulz. GWS probably wouldn't even do picks 2 and 3rd rounder for Cameron alone.

Doesn't matter which one, they're all a bunch of bollocks.

I would do Robinson for Blease. I think Robinson is a di ck of a guy but at least he can kick a goal and is hard at it.

Jeremy Howe for Josh Thomas

The comedian ?

Haven't we already got enough of those on our list ?

Pick 2 for Adam Treloar

Pick 2 for Adam Treloar

The only way GWS wouldn't walk out of the room laughing is if Treloar were out of contract and threatening to walk into the PSD

Didn't Robinson contemptuously state that we were 'bruise free'? Would he want to play with 'pansies'?

I wonder what those who claim that we wouldn't want Lumumba because he is a '[censored]' would think of getting Robinson?

When you talk of [censored] there are [censored] and then there's Robinson!

Rumour has it frost is as good as a demon already, apparently met Roosy and the recruiting staff and was very impressed just a matter of arranging a deal now

I haven't seen much of Frost.

Is he a good defender?

Can he kick and make good decisions while under pressure?

Very good athlete, long-limbed. Ball use and decision making are definitely work-in-progress at best and he needs to put on size to grapple with the bigger forwards, was manhandled at times this year.

It's all just opinion but I think like Anthony Miles he is a lot better than GWS think he is

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
