Get out.

I'm sorry is it wrong to go for Essendon against the team who has been destroying us for the last 10 years?

It's wrong to go for the scum under any circumstances. That's why they are the scum.

I hate North as well.

In a game like this, you go for the umpires.

Good point. My bad guys

Oh dear North, perhaps it was naive to treat us with absolute disrespect last week and rest all your best players right before finals?

Couldn't care less who loses this because I despise both teams equally. Drug cheats vs. the divas, divers and pretenders. Whoever wins will be obliterated next week.

There is going to be a flood of calls to Name a Game on Monday from supporters of the winning team enquiring whether they can get a copy of the game with the commentary taken out.

They do a great job with player development at that club.

Player development comes through having stars. The Swans have done well with the likes of Goodes, O'Keefe and McVeigh over the years and their extra salary cap means they can attract stars and hold on to them.

And Lindsay Thomas dives his way to a goal to put North in front. How wholly predictable!

C'mon North - I cannot stomach those drug cheats.

If that was a dive, we're watching different games.

Ducked his head, same thing. Guy could win an Oscar with his acting.

Classic stuff from Petrie. Has a player ever had their slacks dropped for the first 115 minutes of a game and then won their team the game like this? Shades of Ablett in the 94 prelim.

Glad to see those drug cheats get exactly what they deserve. Boo hoo.

Sweet. There is still at least one club with a longer finals win drought than Melbourne. Two if Richmond lose tomorrow.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
