It's scary

and very unfair.

Sydney or GW$ is irrelevant.

A 9 game broadcast deal is what they want.

If the Swans are winning the advertising $$$ roll in.

GW$ is a side issue

so, Port, Freo, the Suns are all side issues, together with GWS?

the AFL aren't a bank trying to grow money, there trying to grow the game WYL. Next will be IMO New Zealand.

Meanwhile those nailed to Etihad Stadium wither and die....?

or anyone who forgets to take their food & drink with them, to the MCG.

no. Sydney is the big market DL.

Full Stop.

Ok

It does extend up the North eastern coast up to the Gold Coast.

I will give you that :)

Tippett and Franklin are just ripping the cats apart tonight.

The fact The Swans are able to recruit both players is a disgrace.

Salary Cap Bullshite.

I am dreaming of Roosy beating the Swannettes on the last saturday in September.

The wine is kicking in!!!

Yep, if the Swans didn't have these two we'd have won the flag this year!

Don't you ever get sick of whinging and blaming others?

no. I am merely highlighting massively uneven Salary Caps within the one competition.

Facts.

its becoming like the NBA where the same handful of teams dominate every season

thanks, Vlad

Not necessarily true.. There's been 8 different teams win NBA championships in the last 20 years, 11 different AFL teams.

I suppose the bonus of that is in theory when we start to challenge for a flag we should be around the mark for a while

I must be dreaming, Geelong getting smashed by more than 100pts while we have only had 1 team kick 100pts against us!

????? Blues-95? Pies-2010? Bombers-2000? Hawks-2013? Eagles-2006?

the Swans won their first for 72 years, in 2005, then again in 2012.

the Cats won their first for 44 Years in 2007, then others in 2009, & 2011.

Not entirely

but anticipating the soon-to-be-savoured work product of football journalists who operate without fear or favour

HaHaHa.

No I was suggesting a few days ago that I thought the Cats were looking blunt, stale, over the last couple of times I've caught a few minutes watching them. Normally when they are struggling backs against the wall, these modern Cat teams usually respond.

not this time. not much fight.

Sydney's half back line ripped the Cats apart. Their rebound and run through the middle was intense.

Dont forget we have Vlad to thank for PJ, and therefore The Messiah.

We have Vlad to thank for tarnishing our name and dragging us through the tanking saga.

Over 10 sides tanked before us and some more blatantly, yet Vlad decides to drag our name through the mud.

Roos and PJ are great, but the damage the tanking saga done to MFC is irreversible.

Dont you mean Adrian Anderson? Vlad was on holidays mate, he dodged the tanking questions like Mayweather for years, AA wanted to be a big shot and prove himself.

Northern Queensland Cairns/Townsville I reckon will be their next target.

After that they'll either look to Tassie or NZ for a 20th team. Tassie if they just want a smooth transition. New Zealand if they want to go international which I don't believe they're that keen on doing, but we'll see.

If Vlad wanted to stop the tanking investigation into MFC, he could've.

In the end, the evidence wasn't there - yet they still handed down fines, Vlad isn't a guy who goes by the book, he is a guy who answers to no one.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
